Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a milky dark brown close to black color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head that fell off fairly quick. Lace just slid right on off into the beer.
The aroma had that Irish coffee creamer pretty bold and up front over top of some milk chocolate and light coffee roasty notes.
The flavor was lenient to the sweet side and basically pounded the aftertaste with that Irish coffee creamer. The finish was sticky sweet.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with some sessionability to crush as thought I hate to use this word, I have to admit yes, this one is ’watery.’ ABV did feel fine.
Overall, and I thought Southern Tier’s mocha something or other was overly sweet, wow, uhhhhhh.....yeah, I wouldn’t do this one again. Slubgob (332) - West Hartford, USA - MAR 11, 2017
Out of can. Decent if kind of unremarkable stout base. Coffee feels like outta poured on top, and one of those jolt creamer caffeine things I get from the gas station. Not terrible but no great shakes. jjgmd (2180) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - FEB 28, 2017
Can. Pours a dark black pour with an ephemeral java head. Nose is sweet roasted malt and coffee. Taste is sweet coffee with some roasted malt and black licorice. Finish is sweet dry roasted malted coffee ! Descent ! Quaff Score 7 / 10 sloth (2910) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - FEB 13, 2017
Medium sized tan head with fair retention and a skimpy, spotty lacing. Black colored brew. Nose of mild coffee and roast. Body is med/light, soft carbo, slight tang. Nicely done chocolate and coffee roast flavors, lil bit of cocoa and caramel, reasonably dry and yummy. Nicely dry, roasty finish. Hint of peanut and chocolate. Yummy poop! Can from statelineliquors. Black with a dense two-finger head, great retention and lacing. Aromas of chocolate, molasses, dark berry, espresso and faint smoke. Espresso flavors up front, with a mild roasted bitterness, mocha, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Just a hint of grassy hops in the background. Medium to full body, minimal carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a dry finish.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Canned 1/24/2016 (Date Code A406), bought on 12/2/2016 at Total Wine Wilmington. Black with tan head. Aromas of roasted coffee, bitter coffee grounds, dark chocolate, a little cream. Tastes of coffee, baker’s chocolate, some malt. Medium body with a dry finish. Solid coffee stout, I’m sure it’s better on the fresher side. jsquire (4523) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - DEC 19, 2016
Dark beer with a big, foamy beige head. Coffee and dusty chocolate nose. The coffee in this is not too overpowering, with lots of complimentary chocolate, vanilla and a bit of mineral. Strong lactic acid. Okay milk stout. jgb9348 (6324) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 2, 2016
Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of coffee, lactose, alcohol and a big roasted malt flavour with some oatmeal and grains for extra bitterness as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty and earthy flavours with some lactose and pure caster sugar flavours along with a ton of coffee and very earthy, malty flavours that persist throughout. Aftertaste shows some bigger roasty and bitter elements with the coffee and chocolate by far the strongest, with only a touch of alcohol and bitterness on the finish. Overall, a good stout with coffee and sweetness, but nothing too amazing nor worth searching out for. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased a few minutes ago at Whole Foods in New York (Chelsea), New York on 02-December-2016 for US$2,99 sampled walking the streets of New York when my daughter was asleep on 02-December-2016. hershiser2 (3475) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2016

As a fan of milk stout I was anxious to try the Narragansett version. A very rich heady brew with a strong coffee finish. Not overly sweet but nicely balanced with the dark roasted malt and burnt coffee. The added coffee must add caffeine since this perks me up after having a few beers. Liked it so much as a closer at the end of the day I am on my third case of tall cans.
