3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry pilsner malt, noble hops, some sage, some appley hints. Tastes of dry malt, some breaddy undertones, some light spicy hints, resiny splashes, a semi sweet malty finish. Enjoyable.
22 ounce bottle. Hazy amber orange color nice fluffy off-white head. Sweet toasted malt aroma with a strong alcohol note. Subtle toasted malt flavor has a caramel malt backbone and citrusy hop character. Bitter hops in mid taste. Noticeable alcohol flavor. Earthy bittersweet resin hop finish. A little rough around the edges. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUL 2, 2014
(bottle - 22 oz) Orange pour with a white head. Sweet malts in the aroma along with a big whiff of alcohol. Flavor is sweet and cloying at the start with a sudden dry and bitter middle. jgb9348 (6438) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 27, 2014
Rich golden and copper coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, malt, light earth and a bunch of deep fruits - pungent and strong throughout. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep pungent metallic, earthy and strong bitterness throughout with a lot of depth, some alcohol and deep fruit flavours coming through near the end, but a large alcohol presence. Aftertaste is more potent than most, but the bitterness that arises is muted by the sweetness and lighter complexities that arise near the end. Overall, a well-balanced, strong and relatively complex beer with some deep flavours, but a rather nice flavour for the style! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 13-July-2013 for US$6.00 sampled at home in Washington on 27-February-2014. Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy orange with a large, thick and creamy off-white head, long retention with great lacing. Aroma is spicy, earthy, and minty Saaz hops, medium grainy and cracker malt, and light peach notes. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, supporting crisp malt and a dry, lightly spicy finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. HoppityHop (206) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 2, 2014
Looks good and smells good. A tad cloudy with a lot of lacing. Malt is a bit cloying and the hops are one dimensional, but it’s drinkable. If you don’t expect too much, I think you’ll find it decent for it’s $2.98 pricepoint...

Poured from a large bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a straw-amber color with a thick and hazy appearance below an off-white creamy head with good retention and excellent cling and lacing. The beer had an aroma featuring floral and spicy tones along with some barley and yeast. Its taste was pretty bitter and grainy with only a slight sweet-sour character at the end. The body was creamy and thick with a drying effect and strong carbonation and life. Drake (14061) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Bomber, clearance sale, from Appalachian Vintner, shared at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, cereal grains, herbal hops. The taste is bitter hops, toasted malts, caramel mild stone fruits. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness. Solid. Bottle. slightly hazy golden yellow color, small white edge head. Aroma of white pepper. Taste is bitter straw and light lemon. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 31, 2013
Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Thanks for the tip, Jeff! Can’t argue with the price, though the beer (not even a style I’m mad for) wasn’t exactly a mind-blower. Cloudy yellow pour, could easily pass for a non-"Private Stock" brew. But a decently hoppy nose, noble hops appropriately loaded in, with some yeasty, tangy, malty elements as well. Underwhelming mouthfeel, but the taste is reasonably grassy and satisfying. Booze well hidden, nicely hopped, not a bad try (especially for the price). Bottle from Appalachian Vintner. Pours golden with a thin white head. Not much on the nose. Kind of grainy on the tongue with a slight bit of hop flavor on the finish. Finishes clean. Solid but not spectacular.
