COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hi Neighbor! Great-Grandfather DeLucia made his first frozen lemonade back in Italy in 1840. During the winter he carried snow into nearby caves and insulated it with straw. When summer arrived, he mixed the snow with fresh, local lemon juice and sugar, making a refreshing drink. His grandson, Angelo, introduced this icy treat to Rhode Island in 1948, and today there are over 30 Del’s stands across America. ’Gansett is proud to present this delicious Shandy with the perfect balance of Narragansett Lager and lemon flavor. It’s refreshingly different!

1 pint can. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is citrusy to lime. Medium dry. Citrus. Flat finish. No sweetness and no citric notes. Shortlived citrus flavour.

As shandies go, this one is not bad if you drink it very cold when it’s very hot outside. Some of the beery characteristics come through, and it blends pretty well with the lemony bitterness. Not bad.

Tallboy can from Sam’s Quik Shop. Looking forward to this one as I fondly remember Del’s from my college days in Rhode Island. Go Friars! Slightly hazy golden, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of bright, tart lemon, pale malt. The taste is sweet lemonade with a bit of tartness. Pale malt with a bit of graininess. Thin, medium bodied.

355ml can. This is a very mature-tasting "shandy". Tastes like if you made a pie out of lemon heads, very clean lemon flavor, its okay, not too sweet.

Can at James’ house for the End of History tasting. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Lemonade on the nose, a bit sweet, and a touch Pledge like. Medium bodied, light sweet lemonade, a touch of graininess. Soft lemon and tangy. Tasty stuff, light easy drinking summer beer.

Pint can. Had this one this one after sitting on the hot beach for a few hours. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized head. Citrus/lemons. I thought this was a good choice to quench my beach thirst - time and place definitely raised my rating ...

Can. Lemon juice and barley malt aroma. Medium yellow with small head. Tart lemon juice, barley malt, and hay flavor. A lemon flavored beer - not a typical sweet shandy.

Pounder can from Capone’s. Pours hazy gold with white head. Nose is lemon, malt. Tastes lemony, crisp, with some simple sugar and malt flavors. Finishes crisp lemony, and citric.

Can. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a large white head. A big sweet lemon candy nose. The flavor is sweet sugary notes, lemon soda, oddly not a ton of carb. Ok.
