Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Slight lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of roast to sweet chocolate malts and coffee portions. Light vanilla, some caramel, touch of earthiness round out the end.
The flavor blended the previously mentioned aromas fairly nice to slide right on into the aftertaste and follow through on the finish.
The palate was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit just a touch under and having a good carbonation and ABV. Smooth yet balancing roastiness guided the feel nicely along my tongue.
Overall, pretty good porter I could do again. REDDOGICE (243) - nantucket, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 2, 2016
Bought in Falmouth Mass at Kappy's. Very good porter. Surprisingly since it comes from Nastygansett. Found only during wintertime it seems. Was sweet and delicious.

Can. Nice roasted malt, plums, chocolate, toasted dark bread. I think this is quite a good porter. jgb9348 (6482) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Rich deep brown coloured body with a ruby and violet glow at the bottom with a rich, thick, five centimetre tall rich milky brown head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, nuts, peanut butter, chocolate, bread, cherries and some subdued lactic notes. Medium-bodied; Rich chocolate flavour with a big malt presence, some nuts and earthiness, a little hop bitterness and a slight metallic and medicinal note at the end. Aftertaste is relatively mild with the malt and nutty flavours coming through the most and a good milky finish showing a good depth, if not much complexity. Overall, a fairly respectable porter, not a great one, but drinkable and the can is nice for many occassions. I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 13-July-2013 for US$2.00 sampled at home after returning from New York a day earlier, on 04-November-2013.

Tried this last night at Ventnor in DC. I was expecting this to suck, but it was a really good porter. Nearly pitch black. Aroma of roastiness and chocolate. Flavor much the same. Went down smooth and easy. Good body, good head retention. What’s not to like. chinchill (5318) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 9, 2013
This porter is clear but nearly black and nearly opaque, with a long lasting tan head. Excellent lacing.
Aroma: lightly fruity with the expected medium and dark malts.
Taste: wow! this has a lot of flavor, and very good flavor. Lightly sweet, with plenty of medium and dark roasted malts.
O: very surpised at the quality and ’size’ of this beer. Very nice porter; recommended.
