4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2012 The Rate Beer score on this beer is oddly low. For the style it was at the top of its class for summer ales available in CT in 2011 and should prove an even bigger hit having tried the 2012. I manage a wine/beer store where we specialize in anything non-macro/mainstream and get first hand feedback on just about everything beerwise in this state whether or not we sell it. Narragansett Summer is wildly popular. We can’t keep it in stock. Beer reps from other companies buy it in multiple case drops for personal consumption.
The 2011: 16oz can; very fresh; light gold; even, white, low head; very light citrus and hay/grass aromas; light and dry yet smooth and creamy on the edges. An instant favorite for almost everyone I know. 3.8 for the 2011.Can’t wait for next year’s.
The 2012: 16oz can cold off the presses. I was startled to taste an even better, yet true to its original form, version of last year’s work of near perfection. Read about the 2011 above and add the following list of diminutive augmentations: Just a weensy bit more body. A teensy bit more length on the finish. Possibly just slightly dryer. A tad bit brighter. Its greatest departure from last year is the decidedly more pillowy and persistent head. Tough to make a better summer ale than this. BRAVO Narragansett. 4.2 for the 2012
Can. Pours golden with white head. Aroma is sweet and floral. Taste is sweet honey malty and floral with a floral honey finish. Pretty light and thin.

Clear gold with a thick white head.
Peppery, grainy aroma.
Taste is a lot like a pale lager....barley malt mainly....not a lot of APA tones.....
An ok beer.....just not much to style.
Can. Corn syrup, malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Moderately sweet corn syrup, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Light body. Taste more like a mediocre pale lager. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2016
Pours a light golden. Aroma is kind of sweet, with some nice hop scents. Flavor is grainy/citrus with a dry finish. HoppyScallywag (339) - Butler, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 15, 2016
Aroma carries almost nothing. The initial taste is a very light lager in terms of body and hops. There is a small bitterness that hardly presents and doesn't stay long. Pretty disappointed.

(1586-160915) BREWMUSKCLES (2744) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 15, 2015

Eh, is it really an American pale? Pours surprisingly well - a very nice golden color w/ a white head that leaves good lacing. The aroma is weak as its mainly bready & malty. Taste is quite boring w/ only a hint at bitterness at the very end. There’s not a whole lot of summer about it either other than the lack of flavor! Not very good! hfmejias (1297) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - MAY 31, 2015
16 Fl. Oz. Can. Poured clear, golden and bubbly, nice big head and a bit of lacing. Aroma of grass, citrus hops and bread, quite earthy. Taste is sweet, bready, some hop notes. Easy to drink, good summer beer; not bad.
