From Immy’s Tasting. Clear amber color with a thin white head. Sweet citrus hops and caramel aroma. Sweet floral and citrus hops and caramel flavors. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 22, 2006
From Immy’s Tasting, growler remaining from RBSG 06. Again, this held up fine with the travel. In fact, this beer was the highlight of the tasting for me. Medium orange copper colore, good head. Rich aroma of grapefruit and random citrus fruits. Flavor of grapefruit, more citrus, floral notes, and a fantastic balancing malt of caramel and biscuit. This hit all the things I look for in an IIPA. You could argue for perhaps more hop assault, but that’s just being picky. Great stuff. SpringsLicker (3677) - Tennessee, USA - FEB 9, 2009
Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one at his Februmergency Tasting.
Slightly hazy gold body with a minimal off-white head.
Floral hop aroma with a good underlying malt base.
Well balanced with a nice bitter finish. OldGrowth (3665) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - NOV 19, 2007
Growler from brewpub. Good aroma, when cold ot had alot going on, mellowed as it warmed. Citrus, pine. Grapefruit, orange, apricot, peach in a minor way, honey, toasted grain, tad cereal. A little hazed brownish orange color, good head that faded quickly, ok lacing. Bitter flavor, grapefruit takes over though the other flavors are present that I mentioned in aroma. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, bitter, little harsh. The aroma had a lot going on, I liked how it gave me multiple scents. Turned into a familiar IIPA as far as taste and mouthfeel. I had left a glassful in the growler for a week and it held up well. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 26, 2009
12 oz. bottle that I received as a gift. Pours a hazy gold with a large off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left large patches of thick lace. Pleasant aroma of caramel and pine; somewhat sweet smelling. The flavor is similar with caramel and pine and is a bit sweet. Surprisingly lacking in hops bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit slick. I wonder how long this bottle was sitting before it found its way to me? This beer seems a bit tired. Ok as it is, although I wouldn’t mind trying it again with a fresher example.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy orange color with thick, foamy off white head that laced the glass. Smells of cotton candy and hoppy grapefruit. Prominent malty caramel flavor accented by alcohol and citrusy hops. Slightly sweet with a pleasant grainy aftertaste. Carbonation is on the low end. Very little hop bitterness. Bottle from the brewpub. Pours a dark copper with no real head. The aroma is grassy with lots of pine cones and melon with adequate sweetness for balance. This is full bodied and flavorful without being extreme. My palate detects clean pine bite, melon sweetness, caramel, and a dry grapefruit zing. This is very, very nice. Just needs more hops. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2009
tap at brewgrass, north carolina....pours a hazy apple cider brown with a frothy off-white head.... sweet floral hop aroma with a light caramel malt backbone... flavors continued on much of the same. sweet citrus hop profile with a lot of lingering sweetness in the finish. i was looking for more of a bitter bite in the end. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2009
