tap at brewgrass, north carolina....pours a hazy apple cider brown with a frothy off-white head.... sweet floral hop aroma with a light caramel malt backbone... flavors continued on much of the same. sweet citrus hop profile with a lot of lingering sweetness in the finish. i was looking for more of a bitter bite in the end. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 26, 2009
12 oz. bottle that I received as a gift. Pours a hazy gold with a large off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left large patches of thick lace. Pleasant aroma of caramel and pine; somewhat sweet smelling. The flavor is similar with caramel and pine and is a bit sweet. Surprisingly lacking in hops bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit slick. I wonder how long this bottle was sitting before it found its way to me? This beer seems a bit tired. Ok as it is, although I wouldn’t mind trying it again with a fresher example. chriso (7557) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2011
On tap at Natty Greenes, Greensboro NC on 13 July 2006. Hazy ginger colour. Lots of grapefruity hops. Clean, sharp mouthfeel with plenty of bitterness. Some sweetness but not too sticky and the alcohol is not too hot. A pretty decent DIPA.

12 oz bottle. Big, sweet tangerine hop flavor comes as a surprise as there is little aroma. Slightly, pleasantly oily. Somewhere between an IPA and a DIPA. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2009
Thanks IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours hazy yellow with soapy white head. Nose is caramel, sugary lemon, lemongrassy spice, and citrus hops. Flavor is caramel, sugar, grass, and citrus hops. Medium bodied beer that lingers with hop bite. Nice.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with super large foamy head with great retention and super good lacing. Aroma of slightly bitter hops with a medium caramel malt backbone. Taste is also dominated by some caramel malt with notes of medium bitter hops. Body is a bit thin but carbonation is super great with no appearance of alcohol. I thought hops were a bit shy for the style and malt backbone could have more dominant. Aurelius (5369) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2011
Nice and spritzy. Pine and caramel, smooth drinking. Sticky mouthfeel, grainy, malty, a little grassy, not too bitter. Thanks to LuckyDog for bringing this back from the brewpub. emacgee (4680) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - NOV 11, 2010
Pours a peachy copper amber with a 1 1/2 finger creamy eggshell white head. Nose is weird, smells like rubber and mango, sharp and a bit phenolic. Flavor is sharp as well, fusel alcohol and spicy hops. jtd6628 (362) - North Carolina, USA - AUG 21, 2011
Good beer. Quite a bit of malt sweetness but balance with a lot of bitterness not much caramel which works. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 27, 2012
Originally reviewed: 4/25/09. Pours a cloudy deep gold with a nice frothy white head on top. Great retention and nice sticky lacing rings. Smells of deep pine scents and flowers. Very nice.
Mouthfeel is alot thinner than I would like. Pretty watery. Flavor is very muted hop bitterness. Some citrus in there. This is more like an APA in my mind. The only thing that makes this a double is ABV, and even that is fairly absent. Not bad, but have had better
