Uh oh, a lost rating. Had this one a while back, forgot to rate it, although I swear I remember writing it. Must not have hit submit. Not a particularly great DIPA. Ah well. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 18, 2010
Bottle thanks to Bill! Poured clear, lighter orange with a short, dense cap of eggshell head. The aroma picked up juicy, candied pineapple and floral notes over sweet caramel malts and a touch of vanilla.. quite candy-like.. enjoyed it. The flavor opened with tangy citrus and peppery notes, leading to sweet caramel and some grapefruit meat at the core.. more peppery and floral notes on the edges, but the overall bitterness remained a bit constrained.. slight oxidation was present.. sweetness and sourness clashed a little on the finish. Medium-bodied with very tightly packed carbonation on the palate.. a bit too sweet overall.. balance was alright, though. This was not bad on any front, but it failed to pass the threshold into the "good" realm. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 10, 2011
Bottle. Deep orange with spotty white suds. Floral, tropical fruit nose with big malty caramel backbone. Flavor is sharply bitter and leaves the mouth very dry. A little too heavy, messy and boozy for me. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 23, 2007
Light orange color with a white head. Aroma if malty with some hop background. Flavor is malt with some nice bitter hops to finish. BiochemProf (179) - Boone, North Carolina, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Very slightly hazy copper pour topped with an ivory quickly fading head. Nice hop aroma of pine and citrus with a hint of licorice and alcohol. Strong raisin flavor from the malt (common but I don’t care for raisin flavors very much ... especially in an IPA/2xIPA). Citrus flavor underneath. Not as much bitterness as I expected (a bit more would be better in my opinion). Medium-full bodied with medium carbonation. Not bad but a bit too much raisin for my taste that likely biased my review.

Pours amber with a touch of white head. Mild aroma featuring hops with malt. Tastes the same.
Almost seems like a Dirt Wolf wannabe

Bottle. Opaque and murky chestnut, with a small but firm head. The aroma is somewhat mellow, and the beer I easy-drinking. Mild citrus and some musty grassiness. (#4429, 1/1/2012) DukeBrewDevil (732) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 12, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. Nice hoppy, fruit forward nose, though quite muted. I really wasn’t a big fan of this guy. It was plenty smooth, but the flavors weren’t all that well balanced. Not my favorite IIPA. AdamT (268) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 31, 2014
22oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Dark orange almost amber hue with 2 finger thick mostly lasting fizzy white head good lacing. Light fruit, floral, grass, lemon. Floral taste up front with a dry boring bitter citrus finish. It gets much better once it breaths for a bit. I am disappointed that I rated this for my 100th beer. bomber. This tastes like one of my homebrews. I expect a lot more from a commercial operation. It is mediocre all around.
