Tasted from glass at brewpub. Dark with white head. Smooth. Lacing down the glass Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - APR 6, 2011
Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub.
Pours brown with a slight off white head. The nose brings forward some caramel, light brown sugar, roast, and mild fruits. The taste doesn’t add too much, as there really isn’t much going on other than a basic malt presence. What is there is pretty nice. Good body and carbonation, although there’s sweetness with only a bit of roast to balance. Drinks fairly well.

Growler from Greensboro. Nice toasty grain aroma. Wheat baked bread and chewy grain notes in the flavor. Some toffee and a faint honey sweetness. Finish is caramel sweet and a little grassy bitter hops. Pretty enjoyable and entertaining. freekyp (2193) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - FEB 7, 2011
Tap version. Pours deep dark clear mahogany. Smallish white head; little lacing. Strong caramel mixed with roasted coffee notes. Mouthfeel is lightly creamy with a muted small bubble carbonation. Starts with burnt notes which quickly settle into a short malty semi-sweet finish. Balanced and clean. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAR 10, 2010
Dark pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is toasted malts, bisquits, caramel, and roast . Flavor is mostly the same. Decent

Tap at Natty. Pours a nice deep amber with thin head. Aroma is a bit acrid lots of burnt and roast malt, light chocolate and munich sweetness. Flavor is more rick roasty malts, burnt notes, medium caramel toffee sweetness, and light herbal hops- a bit too harsh from the roast and acrid burnt malts. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber color with an off white head. Fairly tasty and certainly my favorite of the lackluster beers that were served during my visit. Mild and roasted, the smooth palate made this drinkable on a warm september afternoon. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2008
