Draft at Natty Greenes. Came to me with a fucking orange wedge on it. Did I order a God Damn Pina Colada? No. So get that fruit shit out of my beer. Pours out a dark yellow to light orange color with a nice white head on it. Smell was fruity and full of orange peel, coriander, and perhaps a little bit of lemon. Taste was very smooth and easy to drink. I could drink quite a bit of these on a hot summer day. Too bad they do not bottle this one. Extremely underrated on this site. Just leave off that fucking orange. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 14, 2009
Tap at the brewpub on 2/2/08: Pours a cloudy deep golden with a clingy-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of sweet doughy German yeast and caramely malt with a touch of banana esters. Starts fairly full-bodied and malted wheaty sweet with a good balance of bready yeast and clove spice. A nicely done hefeweizen. DiarmaidBHK (5092) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Draft at brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with a thin white head. For some reason at the brewpub they stick an orange slice on the glass. Nice estery notes on the nose. Has a nice banana and clove thing on the tongue. Finishes clean. perfect for the summer. I wish everything they did was this nice. BrettTaylor (778) - Radford, Virginia, USA - AUG 16, 2013
Poured as a 4 oz taster at the Greensboro pub. Comes served with a slice of lemon, even on a taster. I know that in Germany it’s common to squeeze a fruit juice in hefeweizen, but it probably isn’t needed here. Correct to style - obvious banana and clove notes on the nose and the palate. Finishes clean. One of the better American hefeweizens I’ve had. bubbleflubber (2228) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - JUL 4, 2007
Cloudy straw-orange pour, minimal sudsy head and webbed lace. Citrus, wheat and clove notes to the bouquet. Great clove and banana notes in the flavor! These accompany, indicative of style, wheat and citrusy (orange-lemon) contingencies. The clove really adds to the finish and after. The mouthfeel is slick to the palate, and went down perfectly for a hot summer July 4th!

Hazed yellow/brown pour with creamy white head and lace. Corriander and bannanas on the nose. Clove, bannana, and a slight semi sweet maltiness. Just a bit fizzy. Very solid refreshing beer. I really liked this beer. I can’t say enough about how clean and good it was. magsinva (1323) - Virginia, USA - JUN 8, 2013
Tap at Natty Greene’s downtown - pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is the typical banana and clove. Good example of the style, though I wish they wouldn’t put the stupid orange wedge on the glass. j12601 (12672) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 17, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft wheat on the nose, a touch of yeast. Medium bodied, wheat and a bit of graininess, light musky yeast. Soft sweetness into the finish with a touch of grain and wheat. Tasty enough. NachlamSie (3507) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 17, 2008
draught. Pours cloudy orange with a tall white head. The aroma is aggressive with not so subtle bananas and cloves. The flavor is again not delicate, but it certainly isn’t overly sweet or spiced. The banana character is quite juicy, some light citrus is present, and grainy, wheaty notes add a dimension to the finish. Quite drinkable. thagr81_us (175) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - JUN 2, 2010
Served from tap into a standard pint. Poured a hazy pale yellow with a one-finger white head that subsides to minimal. Maintained decent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of wheat and citrus. The flavor was kind of bland with a spicy wheat follow-through. It was light on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a very subtle and smooth Hefe. It was light on flavor but made it quite drinkable and very refreshing for a hot day. Worth a shot if you are a Hefe fan and get the chance.
