Overall, a nice Dunkel. Pours a beautiful amber with a thick white head. Smells good, with some floral and berry notes. Taste is very sweet and creamy, with some banana. Very sweet finish. Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught in a taster at the brewpub. Pours a very cloudy dark brown color with a moderate off white head on it. This was an odd beer to me, as it made me think of steak. I got a slight bit of toasting in the nose, with a lot of meat smells and just a hint of some soy sauce. Taste was much lighter than I expected, with just a bit of meatiness that made me think of chewing. Odd. I think I might have liked it, but I’m not sure...

Originally reviewed: 7/13/10. This beer came out a dark brownish-amber with a thin beige head on top. The glass was full to the brim, so there was little room for any foam. Scents of banana bread, wheat, mild clove, and a light sour note. This was a fairly full-bodied beer with a decent carbonation backing. This was pretty standard for the style as far as flavors are concerned. Some mild banana, light spices, bready finish. It just was underwhelming is all. This was a one-and-done for me I think. Most likely won’t revisit this one any time soon.

Draft. Pours hazy orange amber with an off white head. Light fruity aroma with light spicy yeasty notes. The flavor has wheat, light citrus and banana, and spicy yeasty notes. Pretty good.

Served from tap into a standard pint. Poured a brown-orange with one-finger white head that subsides to minimal. There was no apparent lacing evident. The aroma was comprised of malt and wheat notes. The flavor was of malt with an aftertaste of wheat. It had a medium feel on the palate and was low in carbonation. Overall this was a very nice Dunkelweizen. Spot on for its style, but the brew left me wanting more. Could be great...

Tap at the brewpub on 2/2/08: Pours a hazy dark copper with a well-lacing frothy off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet doughy dark caramel malts and a touch of lemon citrus. Starts semi-sweet and toasted wheaty with some bready yeasty balance before a slightly more bitter finish. A pretty decent dunkelweizen.

Copper pour with creamy off white head and lace. Caramel malt aroma. Semi sweet caramel with a nice light fresh finishing bitter. Just a bit thin and a tad foamy. Very solid medium bodied beer. A bit of tartness as well.

Drake (13939) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 27, 2008
Draft at brewpub. Bronze color with a small head and good lacing. Caramel, grain, banana aroma. Same taste with a bitter finish. Light smokiness. Low carbonation and maybe a tad bit thin.
