2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle - A basic IPA, nothing special to write home about. It does have a malt backbone to it. Flavor fades quickly from the palate. Has a slight medicine taste to it. Can’t really get the citrus flavors everyone else talks about.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. Caramel aroma. Way too candy sweet beer for a single IPA. Unbalanced with no hop profile and without any malt.

Ron and I split this bottle from Jay that was brought from South Carolina. Dry clean, not too hoppy, good finishing beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft while waiting for my food at One Hot Mama’s in Hilton Head. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor had a general pale malt base, lightly toasted, some resiny hops, mild citrus and floral notes, watery and pretty bland overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle.
Poured with a huge, foamy head that rose up and over the edges of the glass even with a partial pour. This head looked like it belonged on a milkshake.
Very appealing, sweet aroma seems a touch malty for an APA, but tasting reveals a hop-dominated, mild-moderate bitter flavor with alingering aftertaste from the hops.
Very smooth and soft feel, with a medium body and medium+ carbonation.
Earlier Rating: 1/14/2015 Total Score: 3.5
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Unibroue snifter. (from notes).
A: The beer is a deep amber color. Poured quite clear although a small amount of sediment remained at the bottom of the bottle. Has a short white head that soon fades to a ring, leaving little lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma is complex and malty for style. Features caramel malts and some pale hops and light hops with hints of vanilla, honey, and citrus.
T: The taste has a crisp and spicy/herbal hop component along with a sweet malt base. Overall, mildly bitter by the finish. More malt in the finish and aftertaste than expected. Complex flavor components integrate nicely.
M: Crisp; medium body; medium carbonation; semi-dry finish.
O: A complex and flavorful APA. More malty than average due to the load or assortment of malts; not to any lack of hops. Recommended.
