Draught at the brewpub. Hazy golden color with small head. Malty aroma with grainy and grassy hints. Malty, honeyish and slightly fruity flavor. Very basic and simple helles. Somewhat one dimensional but it goes well with the food. diabel (1723) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - MAY 6, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy blond body with an off-white head. Good lace. The aroma is a bit weak, maybe some oranges. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. The flavour has also some oranges and German hops. Bit faint, but ok. norsedoc (248) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2008
On tap at the brewpub in Madrid. It is labeled as Helles on the tap and Rubia on the menu. Cloudy yellow brew with decent clingy white head. Strong malty flavor for a pilsener. Slight citrusy sweetness. Clean and crisp on the finish. Good hop balance. Better than the dunkel, I thought. The best beer I had in Spain, but that’s not saying much. bboeckl (142) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 10, 2008
Not extremely memorable beer. I had this beer on tap at Naturbier and I’m not sure if there is any other way. It did not appear like they bottled and distributed. Very nice atmosphere in the brewpub. Basement had taps at each table for self service. Computer would measure the amount of "helles" or "dunkles" that came out of the tap. In any case, the helles was quite light, refreshing. Both beers had an extremely fresh yeasty taste to them due to the high turnover.
A bit of wheat, citrus, and malty taste. Very lightly hopped. Not bad. But did not knock my socks off either. In fact, I preferred the Vienna, which I feel may be a bit underrated on this site so far. estpiwo (1319) - ESTONIA - JAN 6, 2008
From brewpub in Madrid. Unfiltered, hoppy taste. Long aftertaste. Nice beer

Average pilsener with good long aftertaste. A classy take on organic beer from a brewpub in Madrid, the city of crap beer. Unfiltered and raw. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 6, 2007

Comments: By Spanish standards, this is excellent, clean, rather sweet, but balanced by bitterness.
From tap at the brewpub (on tap as Helles). Pours golden yellow, medium clear, with a dense white head. Slight sweet and cornish aroma. Flavour starts soft malty, slight sweet with a very smooth mouthfeel. Mellow finish, again rather soft malty and not very bitter at all. Nice. Shows some great lacework on the glass when finished. voota (765) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 24, 2007
On tap at the brewpub. Its pale and clear, with a creamy white head. Grainy aroma, with some slight sucrose sweetness and a bunch of noble hops... basic but works well. Malty sweetnees cloys the mouthful a touch, but the flavours are pretty nice, with some herbal hops and sweet raw malt flavours. Pretty balanced and enjoyable. On tap at Naturbier. Poured a clear brighter golden with a short, creamy white head. Crisp and bready aroma with hints of caramel and grassy hops.. sweet and quite pleasant. Sweet, lightly-toasted bready malts in the flavor along with light grains at the core.. mild herbal and faint citrusy bitterness. Tasty. Light-bodied and somewhat grainy on the palate.. sweet, dry, and refreshing.
