Draught at the BrewPub: Faint aroma of malt, slight nuts, and slight cocoa. Poured copper/amber/brow in color with a medium-sized, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy/slightly cloudy. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, nuts, Belgian yeast, slight spice, and a hint of molasses. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Draft half liter, in brewpub. Great looking tan head that hangs onto its volume for a long time. Not much aroma though, but what it has matches its taste: Caramel, toasted, sweet. A surprisingly bitter slightly skunky aftertaste that I’m assuming is on purpose (I’m not a Vienna style expert). They make this in house and sell a ton, so it’s gotta be fresh. Dark brown color, much fraught and impenetrable one. Beautiful head hat, resistant and voluminous. Slightly burnt aroma with notes of roast caramel, braced cereals, dry wood. Balanced, stinging, bitter, slightly alcoholic taste.
Draught as Dunkles. Unclear deep amber colour with a creamy beige ehad. Aroma of toasted malt and caramel/toffee. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of well toasted caramel and malt with a nice bitterness. Sweet caramel toasty malty finish. Betty (236) - Walgett, NSW, AUSTRALIA - OCT 31, 2008
Slightly worse than the rubia/helles. No obvious hops, the colour is no darker than amber. Tastes like the anzac cookies you get after church and you´re too polite to say they are soggy and crap next week after the bin job because the bitty who baked them was trying hard at least and doesn´t need to be discouraged after what happened to her son. Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy dark amber color small long lasting head. Toasty and nutty aroma.Toasty, nutty and biscuity flavor with hints of toffee and berries.
