Handpull cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark brown, translucent. A tempting cream-coloured head on top. Light aroma, some smoky plum and a touch of liquer chocolate. Sweet, plummy taste. Ambrosial. Silky palate, the beer is aptly named. Nothing too crazy about this little number, but its a tasty by the book mild.

Cask conditioned at The Albion, Cromer, Norfolk. Brown with white head. Quite a malty beer, boiled vegetable and dryish. Little depth to go on. A little disappointing.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 1 May 2012. Poured a hazy, dark mahogany colour, with a scummy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, prunes and earth. Roasted nuts in the flavour, with some grassy hop and dried fruits. Finish was rye bread, cocoa and cooked berries.

Bottle from York Beer & Wine. This is a dark brown beer with malty, nutty and slight red fruity flavours followed by a roasted finish. Very good for a low ABV beeer.

Pretty average mild, not especially sweet or nutty. A simple session beer, not a great example of mild.

SilkTork (5658) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2014
April, 2012 JDW, Rochester. Chocolate malts prominent, developing a raspy burnt flavour that is dry, robust and interesting. Drinkable, though not sure how much I could take.
