Cask HP at Swansea Beer Festival 2016, Brangwyn Hall. As ’Neath Dewi Sant’, 4.8%. Golden yellow, translucent, still with a foamy white head. Aroma is crumpet, sugary. Body is smooth with low carbonation. Taste is watery malt, white sugar, thin honey. Barman said it tastes like lighter fluid but for me it’s just watery malt. I actually thought it was OK in a simple grainy way. jjsint (3729) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2015
Cask at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge. Mid-gold with a hint of orange. Smells of wheat and sweat, with an agreeable floral backdrop. Bittersweet taste the holds its own up to the bitter and slightly salty/umami (think seawater) finish. An enjoyable beer but - hmmm. A bit ’wrong’ around the edges.
