On tap at Crescent Moon this past winter. Pours is ruby/gold with off-white head. Aroma is a large dose of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon that is very pleasing for a winter seasonal. Flavor is similar, but slightly more tame. This beer reminds me of one of the winters seasonals at Jobbers Canyon across town. I’m not sure if this recipe was brought over or not though. Overall, I really enjoy the huge amount of spice in this winter treat. eboats (1115) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 25, 2009
Draught. Poured light red/amber with a white head. Aroma was cinamon, gingersnaps, clove, and other spices. The flavor was a lighter version of the aroma which is too bad because if the flavor had matched the aroma this would have been pretty dominant. Sweet light toffee finish. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - DEC 23, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. This was a dark copper body with a light khaki head. The aroma was massive with ginger and strangely sweet roasted chestnuts. The taste was strong gingerbread, but not sweet. There was also some maraschino cherry along with a cough syrup finish. Way over spiced for my taste. drfabulous (8572) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - NOV 27, 2008
Lots of spice and fruitcake. For the X-Mas style it does a good job. However, how many of these can you down in one night? Like eating spice cake in a bottle. brewhobo22 (3) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 14, 2007 does not count
Wonderful spice aromas and color. I’ve tasted this beer on several occassions: at the opening, during operations and, most recently, at the Crescent Moon (CM) Pint Night. The beer is definitely improving with time. The spices are very balanced; they do not overpower. Overall, a very good seasonal beer.

On tap at the 2007 Crescent Moon Holiday Beer Tasting. Pours reddish amber with a thin off white head. This has a super spicy aroma of ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Smells like a mug of egg nog! A delicious flavor. Can there be cinnamon in this? This is so wildly spiced that a x-mas beer spice head would be in heaven. kitschy (326) - Nebraska, USA - DEC 3, 2007
tasted at crescent moon winter beer tasting. An ideal example of an ideal beer type - spiced holiday beer. huge nutmeg and cinnamon nose, smooth palate, and delicious nutmeg flavor. Dean is back and free to brew with gusto!
