COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first beer produced in the Reserve Series, Melange A Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

750 from Adrien during his Going away party. Nice hazy gold color, lasting head. Aroma is oaky, strong yeast notes and a mild funky Chardonnay. The flavor shows a strong alcohol note with the yeast strong in character with a pale grain backing. Chardonnay barrel is noticeable and blend well together.

750mL bottle shared by Adrien, thanks! Let the games begin! Bottled 02/08/14. Pours yellow gold with a clingy white head. Aroma is citrus, grass, oak. Flavor is dry, oak forward with grass and citrus and a hint of Belgian yeast character.

Thanks Adrien to sharing. 75CL, pour was cloudy, berliner looking with golden sheen white head. egg forward aroma, cheesy and taste is sweet, lots of unfermented sugar, wheat body. lemony. bitterness is up front, some oak but it’s interesting. a lot of yeast. not a huge fan.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thick white head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is funk and yeast. Medium mouth, light funk, spice, belgian yeast, hides alcohol well, very good.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Smells fruity, tart, hints of citrus and spice. Taste is crisp, fruity, hint of tartness. Medium-bodied with a wet texture and smooth mouth-carbonation, Nebraska Reserve Series Mélange À Trois finishes with a bright crispness.

Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of fruits, alcohol and carries a light tartness that is interesting. Taste is of alcohol, grapes and various yellow fruits. A bit too much alcohol but nothing bad. Body and carbonation were both moderate. OK, not something I would go for again.

Bottle (750 ml). From kbudd19, thanks! Split 6-ways.

Appearance: Hazy orange with a small white head and some lacing.

Aroma: Quite boozy with belgian yeast, interesting chardonnay and oak features, fruity notes and moderate spiciness.

Taste: Quite boozy and sweet (the alcohol is more cloying than the sweetness though) with nice fruity features, moderate spiciness, white wine, Belgian yeast and oak.

Palate: Medium to full body. Good carbonation. Fruity finish. Warming.

Overall: It’s not a bad Tripel and the wine features are interesting but the alcohol is way too present in this one even if it’s a BSA. Lack of balance a bit and the drinkability level is rather low even for the style.
