Finally a Nebraska tick! Bottle thanks to Beerman6686. Nose is full of peppery, spicy phenols. A faint crackery malt aroma. pours with a large, rocky, white head; hazy yellow in color. Taste is a wonderful compliment of spice, pepper, perfume, and a slight tartness. I don’t think I would have picked out any barrel character if not told it was there. There is an underlying slight grape like quality to the beer though, but might just be my head messing with me. Finish is dry and crisp. Quenching. Some moderate ear warming from alcohol, but always smooth, never hot. A dang nice gold ale. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2014
Tap. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow body with a small frothy off-white head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is a mix of heavy sweet malt, lots of oak, Belgian yeast, and a big if alcohol. The flavor is more dominated by the barrel than the malts or yeast. Really heavy raw oak tannins grab you right up front. The oak faded to a dense and sweet maltiness, and finally a fruity Belgian yeasy laced finish. A bit of a blunt force weapon on the palate, very intense levels of flavors. The alcohol gets to be a bit warming, especially on the finish towards the end of the glass and as it approaches room temperature. Heavy on the tongue with a clingy sweet finish and fizzy active carbonation level. Interesting beer, but I think any more than this 10 oz portion would be a bit tiring to take down. Draft at Khyber Pass. Cloudy light orange gold pour that, though well carbonated, was presented with no head at all. Vinous light amber fruits. White peaches. Apricot fuzz. Clementines. Lots of vinous oaky Chardonnay notes figure strongly in here as well. The nose has the complexity of a good fresh white wine. Just enough spicy hops to keep any sweetness in check. The listed 11.3% ABV is almost ridiculously well hidden. Feels like a juicy orange Mimosa. jefcon (1921) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - NOV 3, 2014
Lots of alcohol doesn’t dampen the experience of this full-flavored, winelike, oaky, sour fruit-laden, dry and delectable belgian. Iphonephan (7192) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 30, 2014
From a 75 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick off white head. Funky vinous nose with some minty notes. Flavors of tropical fruits and some cheesy bits. Tart finish.

Tap at the Watering Hole. Aroma is boozy, bit of veg. Taste is good, booze, sweet, fruity, mushrooms, cheesy and a bit funky. Vanilla. Nice stuff. KyotoLefty (10603) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 13, 2014
Tap at Watering Hole. Bright golden color, fine, thick head, cloudy. Nose of vanilla, wood, vinegar, grapes. FLavor is oily vanilla, white grapes, lemon, sweet, tart and bitter. Not great, but interesting. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - SEP 26, 2014
(bottle - 750 ml) Cloudy orange with a fluffy white head. Lightly sweet and spicy aroma with light wood notes. Flavor is sweet and fruity at the start with a dry and spicy middle and a very pronounced grape and wood note at the end. slowrunner77 (12581) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 13, 2014
First Nebraska beer of the night. Not sure what to expect. Aroma just barely hints at being sour but there is no sour present in the flavor. Fruity, with coconut and oak, and a nice belgian golden underneath. Very good brew, if a little overpriced. Super smooth like the others." ineedbeer (2230) - Oakland, California, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Poured from a 750 mL bottle with a date of 03/01/2014.
Aroma is a nice blend of fruit esters and oak character. Moderate stone fruit with some light tropical fruit that works well with some drier white wine notes and oak tannins. Hints of alcohol spice along with some light phenolic notes of coriander.
Pours a cloudy, pale golden color with a big, thick white head that shows pretty decent retention. Fairly high lacing with moderate legs.
Flavor is moderately sweet with some light caramel malt notes and some bread. Quite a bit of stone fruit character with some tropical fruit notes as well. Nice chardonnay addition that adds a drier fruit character. Medium light oak notes with light oak tannins and light alcohol spice.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, I am not a huge fan of the base beer but it works well with the wine barrel character. A sweet beer with a drying barrel and wine character.
