(Previously known as Hop God) A beautiful golden crossbreed of a Belgian Tripel and a West Coast IPA. Combining the best attributes of each style in a remarkable way, this beer explodes with spiciness, tropical fruit, and an intense citrus bitterness that will leave you begging for more! Hopped with Warrior, Chinook, Centential, and Cascade hops.

Poured From the Tap into a pint glass The color is a bright hazy yellow/orange with two fingers of thick foamy white head and some thick lacing left on the glass. The smell is citrus but with a touch of earthy funk aroma. There is some navel orange or tangerine here in the nose along with earthy grass aroma. The taste is tangerine and a touch of banana with a earthy, herbal flavor. The hops here have some bite but it seems less sharp then expected where the fine malt bill shows that this beer has more balanced then I anticipated. At times there is a bitterness that threatens take over and dominate with a spicy flavor that was interesting. The malts makes this beer work as touches of Belgian malt flavor rears it’s head keeps things from being one sided. The feel of this beer is medium bodied with a crisp, drinkable feel. The ABV here does give a slight kick but this is a beer that can be sipped and not rushed.

This Nebraska Brewing series has undergone some changes to the recipe and name over the years, but it’s remained consistently awesome. The Belgo/Cali hybrid works extremely well here. Just as it should, this tastes like Tripel spiced with Pacific Northwestern hops. Hazy orange-gold color. Champagne-like yeast, earth, and hop resin on the nose. Citrus, pine hop characteristics up front. They give way to vinous grape and stone fruit. There’s a bit of dank funk. Soft, foamy feel. It’s my kind of Tripel: tropical, bright, and bittersweet.

750 ml bottle shared with the group from notes. Pours a mostly clear orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have a mix of sweet malts, caramel, honey, Belgian yeast, citrus and tropical fruit, floral notes, light spice, strange but interesting.

750 from Whole Foods PM. Pours turbid orange with 2-finger, frothy, off-white head. Nose is floral, with yeasty funk, hops, citrus. Tastes very floral, with perfumy rose petally notes, somewhat sweet, with hops, white pepper, orange marmalade, grapefruit. Smooth and complex flavor, with well hidden alcohol.

750 ml bottle. Slightly aged. Dark hazy golden color, thin lasting head. Aroma is candy sugar, white grapes, peach and a nice lingering Belgian yeast.

Normally this style is pretty difficult to pull off but this Brewer does a nice job of a hybrid style. The hops are fruit ordinated with the Belgian yeast showing a lasting presence throughout the sip. Floral hop bitterness that ends quickly. Body is medium with the bitterness slightly taking over the yeast. Nice brew

750ml bottle, thanks Immy. Large off-white head atop hazy apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, spicy, grapefruit, some white wine, light pear. Taste is moderately sweet, white grape, Belgian yeast spicy, some grapefruit, light pear, peach. Medium body, some acidity, stickiness, effervescence, alcohol very well contained.

Total surprise! Is there a soft IPA? This is it! Subtle fruit, boozy, but very drinkable! Great, well crafted brew!

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2015 Bottle/Fest. A- Bubblegum. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, bubblegum, wheat, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, yeasty finish. O- Meh, it’s certainly like no other tripel I’ve had and that’s not the best thing. Definitly more an IPA to me yet tons of bubblegum like a hefe.
