Pours almost pitch black with a nice kacki head and great lacing. Nose is metallic char roast but the abundance of metallic notes is detracting. Flavors are also overly metallic. This is probably a decent brew but they may need to use different cans or something to make it less metallic. Hope to revisit. hawanna (3389) - Freising, GERMANY - DEC 17, 2017

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2017 can from olé supermarket Shanghai. pours black with big brown head. malty coffee aroma with malty chocolate and coffee taste. superspak (6221) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - AUG 16, 2017
12 ounce can into snifter, canned on 1/31/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Amazing appearance. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted biscuit, dark bread, nuttiness, smoke, charcoal, herbal, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of toffee, molasses, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity dark/black/roast/bready malts, earthy/piney hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted biscuit, dark bread, nuttiness, smoke, charcoal, herbal, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of toffee, molasses, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and piney/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of ark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toasted biscuit, dark bread, nuttiness, smoke, charcoal, herbal, pepper, pine, molasses, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, earthy/piney hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a nice hop/char malt/bitterness balance; and minimal acrid/astringent flavors lingering after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky/chalky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Slight warmth of 9% ABV. Overall this is a fantastic Russian imperial stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, earthy/piney hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on, even with the increasingly bitter/charred/drying finish. Very rich and well rounded malt complexity; nice hop presence, without being too aggressive. A highly enjoyable offering, and pristine style example. hman43 (1898) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JUL 6, 2017
It pours black with a brown head. Head retention is moderate. There are aromas of roast and citrus that makes up the initial impression. There are low levels of chocolate and some dark fruits. The citrus hops and roast mix together with a bit of a burnt flavor. The hop flavors are sharply bitter. There is a bit of sweetness to the flavor. Dark fruits are low and mostly masked by the increased hoppiness. It has a heavy feel and features a low lasting, sharply bitter hops finish with the roast. Overall, the hopping makes this taste more like a black ipa than an imperial stout; however, it has good flavoring overall. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 4, 2017
