Draft at Mekong. Pours black with a khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Fairly roasty on the nose with lots of Hop notes. Thick and viscous on the tongue with lots of hop flavor. Has some solid bitterness on the finish to keep things clean. Solid example of style.

Bottle at Mette and Theis. Brown with a medium sized light brown head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Chalk, light charcoal and mild roasted malt in the nose. Flavour has bourbon notes of vanilla, coconut, white glue. Some stinging alcohol, chocolate, hay. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet and bitter, moderately alcoholic. Black with a creamy tan head. Sweetish with bourbon, dark chocolate, oak, light coffee and some roasted malt. Kind of smooth and with a long finish. Tasty.

750 mL bottle shared with Gus. The pour is a dark brown/light black with a thicker khaki head that falls slowly leaving a good bit of lacing. The aroma is nicely roasty with a good bit of barrel and a light whiskey. There is a decent dark chocolate mixed in. It’s very plain, but well done. The flavors are nice. There is a good barrel up front and a lovely roasty malt and lighter dark chocolate. It’s interesting. It’s a blend of heavy malt and roast and nice bitterness. The mouth feel is a little thin with a nice soft carbonation and. A lingeringly boozy roast that comes through and carries it nicely to the finish. Bottle at tasting. Black pour. Aroma of whisky, creamy chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Nice taste of roasted malt, whisky, chocolate, quite some hops, citrus, bitter coffee and some subtle red fruit. Very nice.
