Bottle shared at my CBC birthday, London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Chocolate cake aroma, some roasted malts. Medium to big sweet flavor, sturdy roast character, dark burnt toast, dark sugar, some light licorice, a bit of burnt wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation; although, it could be fuller. 750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma of deep dark roasted malts, mild whiskey barrels, a bit of chocolate and light espresso. Flavour is rich as hell, full of richly dark roasted malts, chocolate malts, whiskey barrels, and sweet brown sugar. Dense and rich as hell, very complex, and quite sweet as well as roasted. Becomes a bit cloying the more you drink, but it’s a pleasure to drink.

Bottle @ ZZT XII. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown. Aroma is malts, some dark malts, light roast. Taste malts, roast, some coffee, a hint of dark chocolate, a bit earthy, some alcohol, firm bitter. Decent body, high carbonation. The pour is black in color with a small tan head. Smells strongly of roasted malt, licorice, and char. There is definitely some booze/heat to it, too. A little bit of dark chocolate and coffee. The flavor is no more impressive. Intense roast and booze flavor with a bit of molasses and licorice. Maybe some dark chocolate and astringent coffee. Meh.
