Bottle. Pretty much black, brown head. Aroma of rich vanilla, cocoa, espresso. Taste has more vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, brandy. Tasty.
750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich roasted malt, brandy barrels, and wood. Flavour is super roasty, with loads of roasted malt, dry powdery unsweetened cocoa, and really not any of the brandy. The barrel aging is very subtle - I don’t get much if at all of the barrels. Very roasty, heavy impie stout. Excellent stuff. bhensonb (15088) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Capped 750 from Bine & Vine. Pours black with a transient tan head. Brandy burn aroma. And chocolate. Near full bodied. There’s lots of brandy and chocolate. Oak astringency. Very smooth burnt malt. Not much heat. Nice oak/brandy finish. Ratman197 (14674) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 3, 2015
750 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan hed. Aromas of roasted malt, brandy, oak, fruitiness and light cocoa. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Aroma of chocolate, more chocolate, roast, mild wood and cognac. Chocolate, roast, cognac, whiskey, wood, bitter finish and very faint dark fruits. Medium bodied, slight lingering roast, faint heat.

Bottle at home. Pours opaque, light absorbing black with a large, frothy tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate, and coffee malt, perfume and pine hops, dates and figs, prunes and licorice with vanilla, alcohol, and oak. Flavor is sweet dark malt, vanilla, brandy, oak, figs and dates, spicy hops and light bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - AUG 20, 2014
Even though it’s slightly stronger than Black Betty, there is less of a boozy character in this one. The barreling is mellow but well integrated. Hints at fruit and oak and booze, but the roastiness of the stout and even the hops come through nicely. A hair under Black Betty...between 4.3 & 4.4, but due to the subtle nuances at play here, I’ll give it the higher nod. Supposed to be beer 5k, just a few hundred late :)"

Bottle @ Vail, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks bro! Pours a black appearance with a dark brown head. Very roasty, burnt malty, chocolate, slightly boozy, mild dark fruity, kind of spicy aroma. Fairly strong boozy, grape/plum, caramel, slightly smoky, chocolate flavor. Pretty good. alexsdad06 (10268) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2016
