Deep brown in color with an off-white head. Light bourbon aroma over a malty aroma. A boozey-maltiness and roastiness, like a big brown with a booze edge.
Refrigerated brown bomber 2013 poured into a glass. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is bourbon, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is bourbon, dark malt, and tobacco. bartlebier (3982) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAY 15, 2017
650ml, 2014 Vintage from a Chicago trade, merci! - Had this cellar a few years, having read the reviews. Generously sampled and then used in a vanilla ice float. - Thick Viennese Java and chocolate raisin berriness in aroma with a generous dollop of aged vanilla surfing on a spiky bourbon abv wave. Even if the wine barrel and time have flattened out the sugary and abv edges a bit, this is still a heavy sipper, thick and dense with that typical paratactical complexity of (West Coast?) US ImpStouts: treacly-thick layers of chocolate, coffee bean and molasses have been slathered on top of each other in the hope that more will become more - all the while the yeast is dead and has stopped unifying all added sugars into true ex-pluribus-unum goodness. - The barrels do their best to keep all the sweetness contained (some oak, vanilla, spirit wafts), but its diabetically decadent pancake syrup ground layer still screams for accompaniment. - A treat to be shared and enjoyed over several sitting for sure. ffaoe (793) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - APR 19, 2017

Aroma - sweet chocolate, sweet malt, cherry, big alcohol, roast, coffee, and spice.
Appearance - the body is black, the head is beige and around 2". Head fades slowly. Alcohol cloying, with suds wash.
Taste - sweet with a mix of bourbon, roast, chocolate, molasses, caramelized sugars, tobacco, and spice.
Palate - full body, slick and sticky texture, the carbonation is average, the finish is sweet and astringent, with very potent alcohol. JefVerstraete (3359) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - OCT 27, 2016
Bottle @ home from a trade. Vintage 2014. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla. Well balanced, not too sticky. Earthy bitterness. Nice stout! batneil (719) - - AUG 18, 2016
Smooth and strong tasting, but doesn’t taste of alcohol despite the strength. A bit of a chocolate flavour. Very tasty. rouhlas (3616) - GREECE - JUL 28, 2016
650 ml bottle shared with Nightfall at his place. Thank you Alex!! Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, licorice, dark fruits. Very bitter in the beginning, then it becomes sweet and bitter like aroma but much better. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. tightslice (1313) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUL 16, 2016
Bottle from World Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is sweet dark malts and dark fruits with vanilla, marshmallows. Taste is sweet and boozy...not getting much of the coffee...maybe some dark chocolate. Has more of vanilla taste to me. Overall too sweet and unbalanced.
