Clear dark brown beer. Palate is slightly dry. Nicely balanced. Smooth malt that has a vague nutty flavour. The hops are not too aggresive and provide a sweet peachy orange as well. A little bit different. Finishes sweet and tangy. Subtle pleasures!
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark, orangey brown with an off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with some vanilla. Medium-bodied, very soft mouthfeel and some spicy, lightly tobaccoish herbal accents. Almost no bitterness in the finish which is dry though. Nice but unspectacular. 180907 Leighton (21813) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2010
Bottle. Pours a dark but clear amber-ruby-brown with a very faint, white head. Easily detected malts in the aroma, some caramel, some florals. Holds a somewhat nutty flavor, mild chocolate notes, a bit of honey. Leaves an odd sensation on the teeth, like a coating of some sort. There’s also some earthy bitterness in the finish. Overall, it’s not bad, but didn’t strike me as particularly great. fiulijn (20938) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2007
Brown color. Caramel aroma, light herbs. Thin body, caramel flavor, some residual sugars, light chocolate malt, but a rather unpleasant, even if light, herbal touch. Not my kind. rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 9, 2012
Draught at Ginger Man, NYC. Clear deep amber color with a nice lasting beige head. Hoppy aroma, roasted, chocolate, grass, metal notes, strawberries, cocoa, some licorice. Hoppy hay flavor, metal, chocolate, apples, citrus, floral, lemon, some Biscuits and caramel. jtclockwork (16856) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 26, 2011
Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black with light tan head. Nose of dark malt, hops, caramel and wood. Taste is also woody. A bit muted. Lots of dark malt and herbs. Good herbal feel to it.
