Affiliated with the Nectar Ales experience through shared origins at Humboldt Brewing Company, Hemp Ale is a one-of-a-kind brew that boasts an incredibly rich profile and unique herb-accented flavor that is attributable to the incorporation of hemp seeds into the brewing process. A wonderful brown ale full of complexity Hemp Ale is great with food or by itself. American hops create a perfect balance to the darker malts used in this brew. Dogbrick (13767) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2012
Sample at Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. Pours a dark ruby-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of caramel and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, cocoa and slight hops. The finish is short with an earthy malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 11, 2006
12oz bottle. Poured a deeper ruby red/brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and a wet grassy/earthiness. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, and earthy. Thinner body. Didn’t really get a ’spice/herb/vegatable’ out of it.

"nice and malty up front, with peet and caramel malt, good body, although the aroma is lacking. the beer makes up for it with it’s solid malt backbone and hoppy finish. solid, with a small alcohol kick"

Bottle shared by Ryan and Felicia...thanks! Pours an amber color. Aroma has tons of caramel malt, with some vegetal and spice notes and light hops. Flavor is malty and very light on the hops. I got high when I drank this...yeah not really. Peace dudes and dudettes.

hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 18, 2008
Bottle… Dark, clear crimson ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. Subdued, malty nose provides subtle notes of chocolate, nuts and vanilla. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Well-balanced flavor offers traces of chocolate and nuts. Short, crisp, clean finish. Brown ale, I think.

DocLock (11049) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 17, 2007
Bottle. Deep brown pour that has a great ruby shade through light, and about 2 fingers of khaki head. Aroma is dark malt, brown sugar, hops, chocolate. Tastes rich, chocolatey malty, with some brown sugar and hop notes. This one comes off like a scwarzbier.

clear dark brown, short lived fine beige head still manages to leave a bit of lace, sweet nutty chocolate aroma with earthy hops, well balanced malt flavor with nice chocolate and mild bitterness, a typical brown ale

Draft sample @ BBQ, Brews and Blues. Pours a clear brown color with a medium beige head. The aroma was mild; mainly light caramel malts, very slightly nutty, a hint of herbal hops. The flavor was pretty standard for a brown with a slight nuttiness and light herbal hops. Medium light bodied; nothing very special here.
