12oz bottle. Poured a deeper ruby red/brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and a wet grassy/earthiness. Tastes of chocolate, nuts, and earthy. Thinner body. Didnt really get a spice/herb/vegatable out of it.

Spicy, mildly hoppy brown. I guess this recipe was inherited by FW and it isnt one of their better beers.

On tap at Hopjacks. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is spruce and floral. Thin mouth, light bready malt and toast, decent.

Bottle shared by Ryan and Felicia...thanks! Pours an amber color. Aroma has tons of caramel malt, with some vegetal and spice notes and light hops. Flavor is malty and very light on the hops. I got high when I drank this...yeah not really. Peace dudes and dudettes.

clear dark brown, short lived fine beige head still manages to leave a bit of lace, sweet nutty chocolate aroma with earthy hops, well balanced malt flavor with nice chocolate and mild bitterness, a typical brown ale

Bottle Dark, clear crimson ale with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. Subdued, malty nose provides subtle notes of chocolate, nuts and vanilla. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Well-balanced flavor offers traces of chocolate and nuts. Short, crisp, clean finish. Brown ale, I think.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2014 Blind tasting @ home. Hazy deep reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Slightly oxidized / cardboard, burnt sugar / caramel / molasses, pear / apple nose. Moderately to highly sweet. Earthy / herbal bitterness. Chalky / dusty grainy. Dull mouth feel. Some acidity. Not all that great.

"nice and malty up front, with peet and caramel malt, good body, although the aroma is lacking. the beer makes up for it with its solid malt backbone and hoppy finish. solid, with a small alcohol kick"

Bottle. Deep brown pour that has a great ruby shade through light, and about 2 fingers of khaki head. Aroma is dark malt, brown sugar, hops, chocolate. Tastes rich, chocolatey malty, with some brown sugar and hop notes. This one comes off like a scwarzbier.

Tap at ChurchKey. Into nonic pint, the pour is a cola ruby with a small, tan head. Small lacing. Aroma is sweet, roast, milk chocolate, muted character overall. Taste is cherry, roast, milk chocolate. A decent, light porter. A little heavy and rich for brown ale.
