Dark and not that fizzy. Bitter. No hemp taste - but I'm not sure I'd recognize it if there WAS a hemp taste. An ordinary, uneventful ale. microdyke (360) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 25, 2002
Absolutely not the taste I thought I would get. It was lacking in taste. An amber color slightly malty. No hemp flavor at all. Maybe a slight earthiness. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 27, 2003
Tastes like malt, maybe it tastes like hemp, but i dont know what the hell hemp tastes like. Spicy, hops are also thrown into the mix, though it has a very watery feel to it. Unimpressive, hemp ales are nothing more than gay marketing schemes. SG (465) - Valley Center, California, USA - AUG 25, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2003 On draught, almost no head. Tasted like an average ale but slightly oily in texture (possibly from the hemp seed). Just not as good as other hemp ales I've tried. You could call it something else and I would never guess they used hemp seeds in this. elnadeau (786) - Laguna Niguel, California, USA - FEB 27, 2004
Light bodied, mostly malt. Drinkable but not much going on here. Only in your imagination would you detect any hemp flavor... ummm, I think.

on tap at Hobson's Choice on Haight. brown at center, red at edges. little to no head. watery mouthfeel going in, but high carbonation. hop aftertaste. missed the hemp. maybe next time. Alcoholist (570) - Peoria, Illinois, USA - MAY 25, 2004
rating # 420: Light brown with a medium head. Aroma is grains and resiny hops. Flavour is lightly sweet, somewhat bitter. Kind of an average sort of ale. Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 14, 2004

On tap at the Library Alehouse, Santa Monica, 12-02-04...with all their great taps, I had to concentrate on new beers, and ended up choosing this...
Dark amber color, nearly brown, very slim head, quickly departing
Aroma is herbal, grassy (heh, heh)...not much else.
Body is thinnish, hollow, malt dominates in the tastes, but nothing really sticks out...not sure where the hemp comes or goes, as a gimmick, it never really shows itself, and is an empty gesture.
Leaves dryly, and ends up feeling dull and disappointing...there were other new beers among their tap line-up, but I went with the one with the marijuana leaf on it...that’ll show me.
I didn’t have much enthusiasm for it, but...it’s a serviceable ale, though not to hoop and holler about.
This was a nice dark brown ale that had a good flavor but nothing overall that excited me. I was expecting more I guess my stoner genes where wanting more. I would try this for fun and this is a good herb beer and will give some to friends for fun. rybowen (105) - Los Angeles 90039, California, USA - AUG 11, 2006
Decent Brownish ale, good full body and bitter flavor, but nothing hemp-like about it. Pretty average, nice label, though, and the concept is an attention-getter.
