Boasting a ruby hue and an exquisite floral aroma, Red Nectar is a robust yet elegant brew with distinctive accents of toasted malt, caramel, spice and residual sweetness. The beer that started it all Red Nectar was considered a strange bird when it was first released in 1987. After all, where did a robust, handcrafted all-natural amber ale fit into the massive flock of American industrial lagers? Answer: it didnt. So it blazed its own trail, helping set the pace for the craft brew revolution. Enjoy Red Nectar for its dazzling reddish copper hue, original flavors and caramel spice accents. (Editors Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company as "Humboldt Red Nectar Ale" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Nice tasting Ale with a bit of a floral bite at the very end of your sip. Would be better with more alcohol in it.

[Bottle] Reddish amber color with a soapy white head. Nose is of caramel malts and a decent amount of floral hops. Sweet fruits, caramel, dusty grains, toasted bread and light astringency in the taste. Smooth and sticky mouthfeel. A nice beer for the style. Tasting notes from early 2012.

The color is a clear copper with a medium off-white head, and the aroma blends caramel and toasted malts with floral hops. The taste is slightly sour, slightly sweet, and mildly bitter, and the mouthfeel has a medium-light body, slick texture, average carbonation, and a slightly bitter finish.

@ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Clear dark amber with a long-lasting 1" off-white head, wide bands of lace. Taste is caramel malt that is immediately balanced by mild hops and carbonation. Unpretentious brew, but quite drinkable with enough taste to satisfy.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear dark straw colored body. The aroma is rich caramel and malt. Nice. The taste is lots of caramel sweetness balanced out by mild lemon bitterness. Good profile. The texture is smooth with lower carbonation. Excellent balance and drinkability.

Pint on tap. Beautiful copper color, clear, its medium head fades to a little collar. Good lacing, nice light and malty aroma. Nice crispy taste, pretty balanced but it errs towards hoppy and thin on the palate. Its totally respectable as an amber ale.

Dark Reddish Brown, Medium Head Did Not Last, Decent Lacing. Faint Malt Aroma. Malt, Slightly Sweet, Stale Hops, Bitter Finish. Medium Body, Slightly Buttery, Creamy. No Dates, Probably Slightly Out Of Date. Still Drinkable but ... Might Want To try It Fresh, Otherwise Pass It...

Pours brown with red hue, white head, and very little lacing. Aroma of dark fruit and caramel malts. Taste of blood orange and loaded with toasted malts.
