Tap at the brewpub on eatersunday - a real experience. you can tell by first sight that this place has a bad reputation among the local citizens. full of old alcoholic men drinking. you can bring your own food (inside a franconian brewery!) which was taken advantage of: fish tin cans were openend, bread and butter from the supermarket, lots of screaming and jokeing. when questioned what beer they had on tap the girl behind the counter replied "naja, ein normales" - there was a sign of nearly ten different styles adverstised behind her. I can only assume this was the Export, judging by taste and by exluding what they had in bottles.
served in a stone mug. crisp and refreshing. actually really good. grass and hay. malty. medium dry finish. the pub is an experince and of course the people we met right next door at Brauerei Hebendanz told us they would never go there :) JoeinDahlem (1503) - Berlin, GERMANY - JUN 6, 2016
From the Holzfaß at the pub, poured at 9:07 a.m. just after opening. Why? Because I wanted to see what the pub was when it opens at 9 a.m. on a Sunday. Several old fellers, each to his own table, but still joking and gossiping as if they shared a proper Stammtisch. Close enough. Within 20 minutes a group of card players had come in to take tricks and each others change. Several had their own pretty krugs kept for them behind the bar. The cards were Bavarian style, not quite the same look as our. The beer was lightly sweet and fairly dusty-bitter, winding up surprisingly light and dry and thus disappearing quickly. Draft at the brewery during the Bamberg Jolly of January 2014. Pours clear gold with a fluffy, white head. Good stuff, with tasty cereal character, sugar, pale bread, low bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet cereal finish, a little hay and grain. Nice beer, well balanced. kevnic2008 (11965) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - NOV 14, 2015

Donkergeel bier met schuim. Smaak is licht hoppig en licht zoet, noten, chokolade en caramel. Verrassend goed.

Gravity keg at the brewery. Grassy, herbal nose, light crackery malt. Grainy flavor, a bit rough. Worty and doughy, seems not completely attenuated Strongly toasty, moving towards corn and DMS. Great smooth body from the gravity pour, but otherwise quite disappointing.

Bottle @ Björn tasting. Pours a clear golden color with a small longlasting white head. Has a fruity malty grainy aroma. Fruity malty grainy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy bitter finish. Erzengel (8619) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 25, 2014
MichaelAwesome (6516) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2014
→ Interessante Aromenkombinationen für ein Export. Leckeres Bier! 10/12/9/10
Laffes und langwiliges Export ohne grosse Staerken. Leicht buttrig, etwas vanillin, dazu ein wenig Getreide. Milchiger Abgang mit einer leichten Suesse. Langweilige, dumpf, Durchschnitt.
