Bottle shared at the brewery during the Bamberg Jolly of January 2014. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Great beer, with rich dried cereal character, light grassy and herbal hops. Light in body with average carbonation. Crispy cereal on the finish with nips of dry hay, moderate bitterness. Great balance. Lovely stuff. pivnizub (10768) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - AUG 26, 2006
Bügelverschlußflasche: Golden coloured, big lacing fluffy head; sweet malt and a big herbal to floral hoppiness in the nose; strong bitter-sweet flavour, solid "bohemian" malty base, light to medium bodied; moderate, lingering sweet-hoppy finish. Drinking this beautiful Pils creates an illusion of sitting in a fine czech pub............. ToddA (21) - California, USA - APR 12, 2009
Swing top bottle purchased in Bamberg in 12/08. Enjoyed in 4/09. Clean with an interesting hop character that interplays well with the malt backbone of this beer. Hard to describe but to say a very Franconian beer... berkshirejohn (6618) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2006
As I’m visiting Forchheim its time to try a local brew - pours a deep straw colour, with a white head that fades quickly leaving a very still body with no apparent carbonation. Good balance of malt and hop in the flavour with a sweetish aftertaste. Reminds me more of a Czech Pils than a Bavarian one, but then Forchheim is almost in Czech. mR_fr0g (13225) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2014

bottle, thank you MoritzF! Golden colour, large and persistent white head, hoppy nose. Floral and herbal hoppy flavours dominate over a pleasantly fruity and malty background. Bitter-sweet and highly aromatic. Dry finish and hoppy aftertaste. Theydon_Bois (20497) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2014

Golden with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has notes of straw, grass and a bit of citrus and malt. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, flower and a slightly dry citrus-bitterness. It’s a really nice pilsner. rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 28, 2014
