Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 2. Bottle share thanks to 77 Ships I think. Cloudy dark brown beer with a good pale tan head. Light dry palate with a little fine carbonation. Good oak, a little dry and with just a whisper of vanilla. Mellow dark malt. Finishes semi dry. Not bad at all.
bottle ... dark brown ... soft toffee malt noise ... soft malts ... soft roats ... sweet fruits ... dark toffee malt. Leighton (21235) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2015 Bottle at home in London - many thanks to Tomer for the trade! Pours deep, clear brown with a tight, creamy beige head. Meaty dark malt aroma, some dirt, charred toast, burnt sugars. Medium sweet flavor with moderate roast, light earthy bitterness, dark sugars, hints of milk chocolate, light tobacco, touches of burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Modest sweetness to finish, light dry burnt malts, subtle wood, ash, suggestions of dark fruits, cocoa. Great balance here, with some really nice nuances. Good effort. Bottle shared at the chriso Easter 2015 tasting - London. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds lightly tangy fruits, bread and earth. Medium sweet flavor with toasted bread, dried dark fruits, light cocoa and berries. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish with some toasty toffee, mellow bitterness, bread, more berries. Pretty good. Perhaps not in as good condition as the first time I had it. (April 2015, score: 3.4)

Black color, with small creamy head. The aroma is interesting, it doesn’t show only roasted malts, but also chocolate, molasses, bread, cookie dough, whipped cream… The body is lean, the mouthfeel dry; good chocolate flavor with a real accent on cream, condensed milk, some roasted nuts; it has correct bitterness.
Strange but very enjoyable.
