Red colour with a solid off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of citrus and hops. Malty flavour with notes of caramel and hops. Quite ordinary, but an OK beer with high drinkability.

This beer is the bext Mexican beer on the market. It is excellent as a pair with a great plate of mexican food. Dark, carbonated and no head.

english pint / dark copper body with dark orange highlight. good bone white head; sparkly, fair lacing, good ring, slowly diminishing, quiet. aroma mimics the flavor, and it’s not that bad. a little bit harsh, but well enough. watery, cheesiness, well carbonated, just darker malts... subtle. there’s more around the palate than to actually taste. anyway, probably the best mexican beer i ever had. (note: i like silktork’s review)

Well, I’m a sucker for Mexican food and this is the best beer to wash it down with. Certainly not an classic amber or dark ale but probably the most rich and characteristic Mexican beer, IMHO. As with all Mexican beers...a lime, dining on the deck and long evenings with friends make this a classic. Salud!!

I’m going to have to give this beer some points for being very enjoyable alongside a big plate of enchiladas. Mexican food is one of my favortie things and it takes a beer with no overpowering flavors to complement it. Dark pour no head, watered down carbonated taste. I am a true beer snob these days but I still enjoy one of these with a slice of lime. If you like it that is all that matters.

Highly carbonated and very watery. Has a small sting at the end, fairly simple and unextroadinary.

Pours with almost no head. Calls itself a ’dark beer’ but I would describe it as an amber. Fairly high carbonation, and medium malty aroma. Taste is smooth without any hop bitterness on the tongue. Just slightly in back of throat. An easily drinkable beer. Probably the best ’big’ Mexican brew, though still very bland.

Yeah, the first .0004 seconds of this beer in my mouth had some sort of taste. Kind of reminded me of used bath water with lumps of shredded wheat. Finish is ok. Nose nonexistent. I have spoiled myself with real good black lagers of late and this probably has brought the score down some. Lastly, I have a piece of gold aluminum foil stuck in my throat, but I’m not sure I can blame the beer for that one.

Bottle. Dark amber-red with a medium white head. Looks good so far. Light aroma, just a little grass and citrus. Simple malty flavor, sorta sweet. Short hint of grassy bitterness on the finish. Watery body, but as expected for a mexican beer. Especially good with spicy salsa and salty chips.
