UPDATED: APR 28, 2007 This beer doesn’t seem to really qualify as a "dark beer" except in its appearance. It is not bitter, nor sweet, nor heavy, nor light. It has a creamy taste, almost like vanilla, and has no noticeable aroma. Overall it is a bit weak tasting, although not completely flavorless. Definitely worth trying, or drinking if you want a change of pace from some of the more commanding beers, but not really that exciting. Sort of like a good cream soda without the sugar. braudimusprime (75) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 13, 2005
Dark red pour, taste of malt with a weird, burnt overtone. Of couse, no hops to speak of. Pleasantly mellow carbonation puts this stuff in the ballpark of drinkable. highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - MAR 8, 2005
Perfectly drinkable but drab Mexican dark lager. Teak colour, tiny head, bit of lace. Caramel malt in the light, toasted hop aroma. Watery and over-carbonated. Skinny customer. Some coffee character and sweet malt. Unremarkable. (Bottle) Maxamillion (103) - Glendora, California, USA - MAR 7, 2005
Although very bland it is probably the best from south of the border. I really cant understand how they call it a dark ale though. SDalkoholic (2408) - Linda Vista, California, USA - MAR 5, 2005
Brown colored and fizzy head that dissappears in few seconds time. Aroma is almost like a pale lager but with a small nose of caramel malt. A bland beer with little chance of sweetness from the malt. Finish is dry and has a fair alcohol % even though its from south of the border.

This beer has a light brown body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had no carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is moutig with no afther tast . Hawksfan17 (890) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - FEB 26, 2005
Nice fruity smell to it, pours amber. Had the sweet and sour taste of caramel and fruit. Nice and smooth, felt good, nice beer. axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 24, 2005
Used to really dig this on mexican beer night at the Deer Park in DE. It seemed to work then. Only $2 a bottle and all. Now, it no longer really holds a place in my heart. Pretty thin and boring but drinkable. turbothy (1141) - Bonn, GERMANY - FEB 16, 2005
Boring and watery. The fact that this is rated as the Corona Breweries’ best beer speaks volumes about their abominable swill. jus10cider82 (67) - Wichita, Kansas, USA - FEB 15, 2005
(12 oz bottle/shaker) Medium burnt red pour with little head that leaves a very spaced lacing. Light tastes of roasted malt and a touch of honey. It was better than i expected but, not worth the price.
