On tap-thin offwhite head with trailing lace-gold. A-spice/sweet fruit. T-spice/slightly harsh hop bite, chlorophenols (hope that gets fixed on future batches or the yeast spiciness), lt sweet malt. puboflyons (3494) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 13, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Bronze color with modest head. Nice aroma of spice and banana along with a little toasted bread. Medium body. The spiciness in the taste was a little more forward than in the aroma making the banana and pale malts a little more muted,. But generally a tasty beer. johnnnniee (4411) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 21, 2015
Taster at the source.
Slightly hazy and just shy of amber a decent bubbly off white head. Bready sweet maltiness with a big hit of spicy phenol’s and lots of harsh hop bitterness. I had to look up dampfbier. My impression of this one is the yeasty spiciness is too much for the the malt to overcome and it only gets amplified by the solid hopping here. I’m thinking more toasty caramel of toffee maltiness might help to offset that a bit.
