Cask conditioned at The Kent Beer Festival, Canterbury. Dark brown with slight head. Quite a farmy aroma, but we were in a cattle shed, Dry for a mild with a bitter hint, some thinnish roasty notes, malty. Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - FEB 17, 2009
Cask at Battersea Beer Festival, 11th Feb 2009. Very dark ruby brown. Little head. Good, easy-to-drink palate. Lots of fruit but also dryness and good toffee/fudge malt flavours. Nice stuff. SilkTork (5752) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2008
500ml bottle from the wine shop in Rochester. Roasted chocolate and vegetable aroma / odour. Soft sour wine and raspberry notes in an unremarkable caramel mild base. Paint remover, varnish, soap powder and old socks. This is hovering between the bottom end of the standard small brewery milds and the regional breweries’ 3th wash and caramel stained milds. It doesn’t taste good quality, and it has few interesting or notable features. However, it’s not bad for a Nelson. It’s a drinkable and tasty enough dark brew. Cask (Ealing BF2008)harrisoni (18809) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2007
Slightly thin dark mild appearance. Creamed corn aroma. Tinned veg taste. Burnt, tangy, but lacking. Probably had a duff one.
Cask gravity at Kent BF 07. Black, very dark brown, disappearing tan head. Slightly raisiny dry fruity aroma. Little bit thin in mouth. V. decent hop on finish. Some choc. Decent malts. Fine, if a tad acidic.

Cask Handpump at the Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield 23/06/2007
Fruity aroma. Dark slightly rich on the palate and fruity with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp full roast finish. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2007
A Sim rate (cask at the Wenlock): Sweet aroma of musty grandparents’ homes, but in a good way. It’s a mixture of endearing veg (like cabbage), slightly dusty mantles and dogs recently bathed with the garden hose and now drying slightly in the drifting summer sun. It’s the wood from the sturdy front door and the asbestos-ridden paint job. Comforting, if not very good for you. Taste is distinctly nuttily mild. Nice. I enjoyed it.
