3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Case and Keg in NH. Floral, pine aroma. Syrupy, sweet taste with honey backed by strong hop notes. Highly flavorful with a caramel malt base. This was a pleasant surprise from a random brewery.
Bottle, shared with Grippitis. Medium orange body, lively off white head. Aroma has orange zest and grassy notes, but also an ominous slightly acetic note as well. The palate is very muddled, with earthy malts and medicinal hops that ends rather harshly, more tangy than bitter. Just weird and not pleasant. jimhilt (2634) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 3, 2013
Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Hazy amber color, some floaties. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose and flavor is piney hops and some caramel. The 9.2% ABV is hidden. Given the high ABV expecting but not getting an Imperial IPA. $6.99 for a 22oz bottle from Market Basket Concord, NH. thornecb (6151) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - APR 5, 2013
Pours gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Mild resin aromas. Thin with sweet caramel upfront turning to mild earthy resin in the medium length finish. Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Bottle. Taste is mild hints of wheat, grass, malt and hops. Very smooth and not very bitter for an IPA. Enjoyable. VALIS (235) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Very cloudy orange pour with a large, creamy head, almost like a wheat beer. Strong smell of pine, orange, tangerine. Sweet hop bite and a juicy citrus backbone. Huge ABV hidden very well. Strong taste yet still refreshing. Top flight stuff. I’m quite certain this would do real well in a blind taste test, but this unknown brewery has no hype or buzz yet.

Pours a nice orange golden color with a thick three finger foamy head that sticks around for the life of the beer. Aromas are a bit subtle but nice fruit a bit of grass and some caramel malts. On the palate this beer is quite flavorful and well balanced. big tangerine and citrus juice on the front end lead into a grassy mid palate and a nice fresh bitterness that evens out the juiciness iin the finish. Well Made ! AirForceHops (8026) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 9, 2012
22 oz. bottle from On the Vine. English pint shows an unfiltered Straw color liquid. Ample carbonation gives a fluffy, soapy white lasting head. Nose is underwhelming. I left it reach room temperature before I drank my second glass and still only shows light citrus notes. The flavor is a traditional IPA. Mixture of sweet malt and pine hops and a touch of honey. Bitterness is a pine or spruce. Body is medium with low Co2. Not bad but… after trying all of the other brews from Nepenthe Ales, this really is my least favorite. 650 ml bottle from secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium off-white head that has good retention. The aroma is pine resins, bit’o grapefruit and barley. The flavor is dominated by piney hops, apricots and a dash of something floral; all set in a caramel malt base. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and dry with some lingering bitter pine. Overall: I’m not normally a fan of piney IPAS (I like the citrusy ones), but I found this very refreshing after a hard days work. Thanks again santa, I always love trying a new beer. mcox90 (2159) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 1, 2012
22 oz bottle from The beer Store. Pours a cloudy dark amber/orange/brown with a 2 finger creamy beige head. Lots of sticky lace. Aroma is quite malty, but balanced well with lots of pine resin and grapefruit. On the sweet side with lots of caramel flavor, but still manages a bitter finish. Bitter on the tongue with a medium body. Nice enough, I’ll buy it again.
