355ml can. Lightly hazed golden pour. Aroma is banana bubblegum wheat, fruity. Flavor is clove, sweet malt, citrus, banana.
Post tasting thoughts:
This hits all the marks but is uninteresting.
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2017 Draft at Bru Craft. Very hazy gold pour. Well carbonated. Soft white foam. Somewhat brash Hefe. More character than expected for the style. Browned lemons. Bagels. Medium caramel malts. Grassy citrus hops. Earthy chestnuts. Satsumas. Lemon verbena. Lemongrass. Tart. Much more juicy and earthy than your average Hefe but not that deep a palate. voyageurmike (427) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2016
From Beer Store growler. Dark amber with no head to speak of, little carbonation. Aroma is mainly wheat, flavor is wheat with some banana. Mild finish. An inoffensive but unremarkable beer. FROTHINGSLOSH (7697) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2016
Sampled on draft this beer poured a slightly hazy golden color with a huge foamy white head that left exceptional lacing. The aroma was yeasty with a bit of clove and bubblegum. The flavor was sweetish and very yeasty with bubblegum, a bit of clove, and faint fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Pleasant. Poured a light cloudy orange color with aromas of bananas, wheat and some yeasr. Flavors are the same stale bananas for the most part with some wheat and yeast. hayduke (5189) - Eureka, California, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Sampled at GABF 2015. In the tasting glass was murky yellow. White foam. Nose of banana and lemon. Medium body. Flavor is banana, clove and citrus. Finishes with some more fruit. Good hefe. jcartamdg (3422) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2015
Pours a golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma of wheat and banana esters. Taste is heavy on the banana esters but everything else is a bit muddled. Not the best representation of the style. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 16, 2015
Pours a very dark and very hazy golden orange color with banana yellow edges and a one finger white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Decent retention with subtle spotty lacing left behind.
Spicy, earthy aroma with a strong peppery clove presence along with grassy, soil-y hops, bread, banana and faint citrus zest. Bread and banana notes become more prominent as it warms but it’s still aggressively hoppy for the style. A bit too much for my liking, taking away from the other classic wheat beer characteristics.
Full body with tight carbonation and again, a strong spice and hop presence up front that lingers over the other wheat beer notes. Hints of allspice, cloves and pepper followed by bread and strong banana flavor. Lots of malted wheat with lots of zesty citrus fruit(especially lemon) in the finish. There’s a subtle tart sourdough resence as well. This is a decent interpretation of the German style, just a bit too bitter/hoppy for my liking which is typical for American wheat beers. jgb9348 (6199) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 4, 2015
Clear golden tinted and bronze glowing body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head that fades relatively fast. Aroma of apples, wheat, coriander seed, yeast and a lot of sugars. Medium-bodied; Deep wheatie and apple flavour with a good deep sweet flavour at the end with a bite of wheat and pungent alcohol at the end. Aftertaste shows a hint of metal, some light grass and a lot of curacao and full orange flavour and sweetness. Overall, a deep and more wheat ale styled beer than a German Hef, but nice for the season and the warm days. Not great, but good to try. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 06-July-2013 for US$3,59 sampled at home in Washington on Independence Day , 04-July-2015.
