Cask. Pours a clear, dark orangey brown with a beige head. Roasted malt, dried fruit with touches of cinnamon and cardamom. Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt, licorice, dried fruit and wood with a lightly fusty edge. Some alcohol in the finish. 190110

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Rich brown pour with a lasting, light tan head. Mild roast aroma with some citrus hops poking through. Rich flavor, lightly roasty with coffee, baking cocoa, burnt sugar, some grass and citrus bitters. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, nicely balanced roasted malts and almost juicy hops. I would call this a British-style black IPA. Good stuff.

Cask gravity at Chelmsford BF 2011. Bottled and drunk on train on way home. Black body with thin dark beige head. Its part dark roasted beer part dark strong English beer. Some dark syrup on aroma. Tasty enough. Not overly complex bit I enjoyed it reasonably enough. Its a dark juicy beer

Cask at Bree Louise, London. Amber beer, small head. Fruity aroma, malty, figs and raisins, some hops. Vinous flavor, figs, candy notes. A bit different but rather nice.
