Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Dark chestnut with white head. Heavy strong beer with a big dose of toffee caramel, smooth fruity notes with a redcurrant type flavour. A good winter warmer with a sharp alcohol background. Finishes a little sweet. Good stuff.

Cask. A dark chestnut colored beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has strong notes of spices - especially cardemomme, combined with light notes of nuts. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of spices - cardemomme and cinnamon.

Creamy head that dissipates almost straight alway deeply fruity ruby in colour start off quite sweet on the palate but goes onto a biter aftertaste I really enjoyed this but not the best that this brewery produces

sm89walt (2080) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2013
Cask - The Glass House (JDW), Norwich. Poured with a large, dense light tan head that lasted and laced. Roasted malt aromas, dried fruits and some coffee on the aroma. More roasted, malt, some coffee again, plenty of dark & dried fruits with a dry, roasted malt/hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body, mostly soft in the mouth with a creamy, lingering finish.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2013 cask @ The King’s Arms. Uppnor Castle. Kent) A strange choice on tap in late june -but it was rather cold of course -thus this winter/summer warmer was fucken fine with me. Its a smoky deep brown colour, kinda beautiful but the head was too subtle for me. I wouldn’t say this beer had too much finesse really , it relies on rich tofee and chocolate vibes -married with booze in a simple but nice paced ale.

Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are molasses and liquorice with dark malts. Flavours are coffee and liquorice with very dark syrup. Dark chocolate bitterness with herbal notes, Winter fruit and brown sugar. Decent.

Cask at the Regal (JDW), Cambridge. Ruby port in colour with a ring of cream head; blackcurant aroma; dry and spicy blackcurrant flavour with underlying chocolate malts, unfortunately rather too thin; dry finish. Interesting.

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. Dark brown with a hint of red and slight, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and fruits with a hint of roastiness. Flavour started sweet, with some robust malts, a hint of ash and bitter finish. Very good.

Cask, handpump at The Turf Tavern, Oxford 04.12.10 Pours dark brown with some ruby glints, quite a hard bitterness. Dark malts show, some bitter toffee, molassess, this is a robust leg biter of a beer. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov13 3.3
