Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. Light and slightly fruity. Semi crisp palate. Not that bitter. Drinkable.
Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Pours a clear, yellow-gold with a faint, filmy head. Sugary malt aroma with mild sweat, straw and citrus. Flavor is nice, pretty sweet with some honey and sun-kissed hay, lightly bitter with tangerine and grass. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Simple dark bitter. Slight fruity aroma, full palate, rich malty retronasals, fruity and bitter hops. Decent long finish - bitter and dark and resiny, with a touch of grapefruit. Tasty English bitter, better than ’golden’ implies.
Cask conditioned at Codshall Station, Codshall, Staffs. Orange gold with white head. Pretty straightforward golden Ale, slight buttery notes and a touch oily in the body, light restrained malts but not much hop action for me, all a little sweetish and light. It’s ok and drinkable without getting stuck in. Reasonable.
