Cask conditioned handpump Dukes Arms Woodford 18/02/13. A copper coloured beer with a white head and lace. A bit soapy. Light fruits. Quite ordinary and clean but drinkable. Served too cold as well.

Cask at Blue Boar, Billericay. Pours a light orange brown with a thin white head. Malty orange notes on the nose with a little burnt sugar in the background. This beer washes very lightly over the tongue and leaves a watery orange caramel taste with an undercurrent of bready malt. The aftertaste doesn’t offer much either with a dry slightly sugary syrup bitter sweetness. An uninspiring ale mainly due to that lack of assertiveness by any element. i get the feeling that this beer isn’t actually trying as hard as it could.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 10 Aug 2007) Amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with apricots and earthy hops. Fruity taste with notes of apricots, honey and balanced doses of earthy hops in the finish. Malt sweetness shining through. Decent summer brew, but a tad too sweet for me.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper amber with a small white head. Malty aroma. Sweet grainy honey taste. Some bitterness. Delicious.
