Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy gold beer. Good suddy white head. Light dry palate. Nice flavour - as much ginger as it is lemon. Fresh and tantalising but the palate is over dry, especially on the finish.

Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #13 at Bedford Beer Festival 2005. Amber colour. This was odd. When I first bought this the first sniff almost took my breath away with the lemon and spiciness. However, a bit later, I put the beer down next to different one, forgot which was which and was hard pressed to pick up the lemon at that point. The flavour is mildly bitter, slightly sharp and more gingery than lemony. Mouthfeel is a bit soft. Started promisingly but didn’t quite finish the job.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys Ashford. Clear amber not much head. Smells of a bitter shandy, tastes of bitter shandy with a bit more bitterness coming in from the ginger. Quite a lasting bitter ginger finish. So lemon up front, ginger, carbonic acid and bitterness on finish. Yep, not very good to be honest.

Cask conditiioned at The Charles Lamb, Islington, London. Gold with white head. Sharp gingery lemon notes, which is what it was supposed to be but this is a little over the top really. Bitter, thin close. It’s ok.
