Cask, ’Spoons, Hawick. Looks great apart from a slight haze, that lost it a point! Dark ruby with a tight white head, good lacing down the glass. Nose and taste bursts with roast malts, a delicious brew, good lingering finish, glad I popped in here after my walk! danlo (3067) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2013
Cask at William Stead (JDW), Darlington. Dark brown-ruby amber colour, foam tan head leaving some lacing and aroma of malt, roasted. Taste is biscuity malt with roasted, fruity & slight chocolate notes and a light bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Quite OK. Kings Head, Norwich. Clear dark brown beer. Light white head. Softish semi dry palate. Fair bit of malt with a trace of toffee. Orange in the undertone, drop of ref fruits as well. Finishes dry. Not bitter. Inoffensive.
Weak aroma. Looks good though, dark with a creamy-beige head. Light taste of roasted malt, slightly watery palate. Very drinkable as you’d expect from a mild. Decent overall.
