33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden brown with a lacing tan head. Caramel and butterish aroma. Light spiced and malty flavour. Light acidity and bitterness. Mild bitter and light caramel malt flavoured finish.

Very sweet malty aroma with notes of bread, straws and caramel. Beutiful nutbrown color with an OK off-white head though fast disappearing. The flavor is nice - but a little disappointing after the very nice aroma. The flavor is malty sweet with notes of roasted malts, bread, and some woodyness. It turns OK bitter in the end - with the woody dryness lingering. The body is somewhat thin.

Bottled (from mein-biershop.de). Deep rubyish amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel malts, some mild nuttyness as well as dark dry fruits. Very pleasant. Flavour is ashes, some roasted notes, mild nuttyness as well as some slight tones of chocolate.

Bottle at Busboys & Poets. Pours slightly hazy chestnut color; extra points for a nice looking bottle! Shaped like a kettle I guess. Aroma of warm pecan pie. taste is caramel and butterscotch. Sweet stuff, good dessert beer.

Bottled. Clear copper colour, rich head. Aroma of raisin and roasty malt. Fairly sweet with rounded rather soft mouthfeel. Interesting roasty peanut buttery flavour. Low bitterness. Really good dunkel!

(Bottle 33 cl) Pretty, orangey brown with a nice, dense head. Spicey, caramelish, lightly smoked malt character with some sweetness. But there’s a weird lack of harmony and balance in here which combined with a less than pleasant aroma makes this a not so good offering. 220402

Test vom 12.7.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,12,11,11,10,11 - 11,00

Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are bread, malt, caramel, hops and vinegar. Unfortunately it tasted a little off. Too sour.
