500 ml bottle picked up in Germany. pours a reddish brown with mostly lasting beige head. Looks really nice. Sweet malt, caramel and hops in the aroma. Taste is low bitterness and some sweetness and dried fruits. Nice palate and finish which finishes off slightly dry. A well made dunkel. wlajwl (7005) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 5, 2012

Bottle. Very malty, fresh sweet fruit aroma. Dark red/brown colour, unstable head. Malty flavour, a little sweet. Tastes toasted, but without being bitter. The flavour is mild, but still quite tasty.

Pours deep copper with gold edges and thin tan head. The aroma is pretty full with smooth caramel, candy apples and some dark fruity grapes. The taste is much the same with an even smooth mix of caramel and sweet dark grapes to go along with a note of grainy malts. It is smooth and nice. Well crafted brew bringing forth plenty of yum. Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strongish airy head. The aroma and flavour is malty, roasted and yeasty. Overall a nice dunkel. obguthr (6585) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Grainy wood, pecan, and kibble nose, trace maple syrup sweetness. Clear brown, medium yellow head. Pleasantly sweet kibble flavor, honey. Medium-light body, easy carbonation. Very sessionable, probably good with roast beef. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 30, 2002
Great aroma: you have the feeling laying in a box of roasted coffebeans while sniffing this beer. Awesome. Also the visiuality of this beer rocks, nice brown body with hints of red and a huge frothy head. When the sip...it's disappointing after the former two points. Coffebeans and milkchocalate but very light. Oily finish - all in all a weak flavor. A bit stronger flavor and a nicer finish and this beer would be mine. pivo (2685) - GERMANY - SEP 30, 2002
A big nose of toast malt – reminded me of a US micro more than a German beer. A little dusty and hints of chocolate. Crystal clear dark caramel brown color and big, big fluffy tan head. The flavor was mostly roasted malt. It was a little acidic and even sour in the middle though. Dry, bitter end. Quick profile, medium body and creamy mouth feel. The balance was a little off and that’s where it lost points with me. Raw and rough around the edges but I liked this overall. The taste did no live up to the appearance and nose.
