Bottle. Clear light maroon pour with a big foamy white head. Nose is simple....sweet malts. The flavor’s very malt-leaning as well with some brown sugar, caramel, and maple syrup. While there’s not much bitterness to balance the sweetness, it’s light enough it’s quite drinkable. Leaves the mouth sticky. An enjoyable malty session beer.

Dark brown coloured body with some lighter amber tints and a bit of copper hues at the bottom, all with a one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toasty malt, nuts, earth, caramel and a hint of concord grapes. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy maltiness noticeable with a good sweetness, some light spices and not much else. Aftertaste shows the malt with a hint of alcohol, some sweetness and a good mellow earthiness. Overall, a nice beer - can’t believe I never sampled this one, but well worth a drink, especially if you are eating some German food! I sampled this stubby (german style) 33 cL bottle purchased from Old Europe restaurant in Washington, DC for US$6.00 today on 23-March-2013.

kapusil (1432) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 11, 2013
0.5l bottle. Deep ruby body, light brown head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel and roasted malts. Taste is more caramelly than the aroma suggests and has dark fruit and toast notes. The finish is a bit hoppy. Medium-full body, oily texture. Nice one!

chinchill (4993) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Poured clear amber brown with a weak head. Aroma had more sweet caramel malt than medium roast malt, but this is reversed in tasting. Lightly sweet flavor suggests dark bread baked with some brown sugar. Medium body with spot on carbonation.

Clear nutty brownish amber, under a thin off white lacey head. Nose features some earthy toffee and earthy toasted biscuit. Sweet and charmingly nutty flavour with some earthiness, light toasted wheat, and a bit of dark toffee lager tones.

Bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is niet zoet, eerder droog bitter en ietwat rook. Erg goed.

Copper to light brown in color. Taller head that settle over time to a finger of ecru foam. Toasted bread and malt with a backdrop of herbal hops. Fairly simple flavors with caramel and malt. A German amber with a light bock malt finish. 7/10

Bottle. Copper/light mahagony. Nice head. Smell: malt, sugar, nuts and some german hops. Taste: malt, nuts, caramell, bread and just the slightest touch of banana. A little bit too sweet for my taste although there is some bitterness in the finish. Easy going Dunkel. Supersüffig.

Bottle from Systembolaget (5,0%). Color is dark. Small head. Aroma is hops and fruity. Smooth taste with sweet finish. Easy to drink.
