Dark color with dark creamy head. Nice peaty aroma. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, peat. Correct bitterness.
A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. Aroma of chocolate nougat, with light honey notes. In mouth, a nice lightly bitter chocolate, very sustained, with nice sweet honey in beginning, nutty notes. Medium bodied. On tap at Wellington Gastropub, June 16 2009. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2009
Cask at C’est What. Works very well as a cask, purs dark with soft creamy mocha head, that leaves much lace down the glass. A bit of roasted barley aroma. Easy mouthfeel that is as much as a stout as it is a Scottish. Not too sweet. Refreshing on a Spring Day. jercraigs (11095) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 10, 2009
2009-04-03. Black body with a nice foamy tan head, leaves a thick brewers lace on the glass. (4+) Moderate aroma, yeast, very mild roast and malt. (6+) Flavour is sweetly malty with just a touch of roast, roasty bitterness in the finish, light cocoa and chocolate notes. (7+) Smooth average to medium bodied palate. Lightly under carbonated - might improve on tap? Bit simple but pretty nice overall. Cask @ Volo JoeMcPhee (10137) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - APR 2, 2011
Pitch black with a tight creamy head from the cask. Loads of coffee and herbal hoppiness as well. Fairly chewy bitter cocoa palate and a lot of earthy character. Some black licorice and chewy earthy character. Assertively hopped. It’s decent although I’d like more sweetness in a beer like this.

[2070-20090403] Cask. Car tire roasted malt aroma with a mild fruitiness. Black body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and some thick lacing. Boozy black and thick flavour has roasted malt and heavy wood undertones with a long aftertaste of tea. Full body. Good, but annoying aftertaste.

Smells smoky with caramel. Pours pitch black with no head. Decent dose of bitterness. There’s an odd zing I can’t place that gives this some points for me. Tap at Bar Hop. blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2009
Cask at Volo. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size mostly-lasting fizzy tan head. Slightly mild but pleasant aroma has a hint of red wine, mild roasted malt and green hops -- it’s almost Brown Ale-ish. Flavour of lightly roasted malt, light green hops and some coffee. The finish is iffy -- like black tea when the teabag was left in too long. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good overall. Radek Kliber (7501) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 25, 2009

Appearance: Dark brown with lighter top , little lace.3-
Nose: Light roasted character with brown malts and darker finish. 6+
Flavor/Palate : medium light bodied. There is bit roughness to it, thinner inside. Average work.p-2+
Cask. At Volo. Near opaque black with red fringes - small frothy tan head. Light aroma - sweet, minty, slighty lactic, definitely herbal, almost resiny. Niiiiice taste - dry, acidic, hints of dark fruits and mild coffee - is the bitterness from the tea? - seems vinous, red wine-like tannins. Light, slick, very astringent mouthfeel, has an odd grapeskin/grapeseed aftertaste - interesting, the tannic bitterness is cool.
