As Refugium Männerstolz at 7.1% ABV. Pours opaque deep brown with ruby highlights. Moderate off-white head. Low retention. Thin lacing. Dark malts on aroma. Caramel. Roast. Coffee. Chocolate. Esters and phenols stay far away (moving closer as the beer gets warmer). Bit vinous. The same picture while tasting. Light to medium body. Oily. Low to light bitterness. The review seems to be positive as I read it again. In fact this brew lacks power and smoothness that are IMO appropriate with Baltic porters. YantarCoast (1368) - Moscow, RUSSIA - APR 21, 2016

50cl bottle. Irony and extremely dry. Full of coffee. Not like EE porter should be. Thin, overly carbonated and with over the top ABV. Not my kind of porter. Gets better towards the end of glass. Still, had higher expectations. P.S. Had to write it twice due to RB malfunction. CapFlu (5127) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 18, 2015
Pours a lasting thin beige head atop a black body. Nose of coffee and bread. Very smooth ash and coffee flavour. Fairly tasty. Purchased at Metro Liquors University Heights for $4.25. Kauge (1957) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 22, 2014
Bottle from eDrinks in Tallinn (€ 1,86). BB 11.06.2015. Pours very dark brown, black coffee colour in the glass, weak hue of ruby against light. Head big but drops fast into a thin layer, light beige, leaves beautiful lacing. Nose is intense black bread crust, but also coffee and chocolate rich in cocoa, ash, and a tingle of spiciness. The roastiness kind of reminds me of fried vegetables, fried potatoes maybe. Taste semisweet - chocolaty-roasty-malty, dark fruits. Sweetens as it warms. Medium to full body, palate sticky and grainy, carbonation very much present but not dominant, mouthfeel smooth and soft. No alcohol detectable. Beautiful! kaups (29) - ESTONIA - OCT 14, 2014
Bottle @ De Tolly joogipood, Tartu, Estonia.
Pours with light brown head that reduces quickly. Aroma of raisins, malt, chocolate, vanilla, hint of coffee. Taste brings up the breadyness, burnt/roasted notes of malt, taste of slight alcohol. Aftertaste has some cherry in it, bready bitterness. Overall I think it´s a good porter. rotaman14 (623) - Wiesbaden, GERMANY - OCT 2, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2014 Bottle shared with a friend. Pours a black coulour, with a brownish head. Caramel, chestnut, some chocolate in the aroma. Taste is coffee, dark dark chocolate, with a full body, and a medium, bitter finish. Overall a nice example of the style!
