This draft brew from a beer festival that left behind a softly carbonated golden brown colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy and malty. The dry mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of hops and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

growler to glass from coxís smoker outlet in jtown. pours a nice clear orange color with a white head that somewhat lingers some decent lacing. the aroma is soft as well as the flavor thatís the best way to describe this whole thing...mild hops in the nose along with bourbon barrel soft and delicate. the flavor is more of the same mild to medium malt base you get a lingering hop bitterness on the tongue and a soft bourbon barrel, oak and mild hints of vanilla. overall pretty decent offering from nabc.

Pint at Red Yeti Brewing Co. Pours a nice golden orange with a bit of an amber hue and a large white head that leaves plenty of lacing. While both are still definitely present, this is neither overly hoppy or Bourbon tasting. Really lets the oak, malt, caramel and vanilla flavors shine. Medium body with a somewhat creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Overall one of the better bourbon barrel aged IPAís Iíve ever had.

tap at Ft Wayne Oktobeerfest 2013 - Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. It has a major bourbon barrel smell. The flavor has the expected high bitterness. The bourbon is much more subdued in the flavor than in the aroma. Itís medium to full bodied and very good.

Tap at New Albanian. The beer was smooth and bitter, but balanced with a light oaky vanilla.

Draft sample @ Ft. Wayne Oktobeerfest. Oaky boozy bourbon and vanilla aroma. Hazy honey gold with a small off-white head. Woody bourbon, sweet caramel, and vanilla flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. I was really surprised at the lack of perceived hops flavor. I was just getting lots of bourbon and vanilla.

On tap at the GTMW 2013
New Albanian had a strong showing at the Great Taste. It was hard to pick just a couple but this was one that made the cut. If more of their beers made it just an hour north I would drink them quite regularly at the Tap.

Aroma / Appearance - A radiant orange base is warm and vibrant. Long slick legs creep down the sides. Sweet with light vanilla aspects it is brilliant beer that is part IPA and part barrel treatment. The result is very well balanced.

Flavor / Palate - Sweet with vanilla undertones the oak transition brightens the palate. Half bourbon and half hops things stick around for a long while. A grassy citrusy finish marks the end of a balanced and excellent release. If this goes on again and you find it on tap donít overlook a fine brewery with a fine IPA.

Tap sample. Poured copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop and bourbon wood aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth bourbon bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

phaleslu (10099) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 23, 2013
Draft at the Bank Street brewpub. Pours a semi-cloudy orange-hued gold with a finger of cream-colored head. Notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, orange and tangerine citrus, pale and caramel malts. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel with late bitterness. Not a ton of barrel influence here; mostly just provides some vanilla sweetness.
